About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, 5 Sleeps

Our cabin is on Dark Bay (it's not really dark), which is on the

eastern shore of Lake George. We are directly opposite Hague and just

north of Gull Bay.

This is a quiet family oriented part of Lake George. The cabin has a

nice sense of privacy, there are no shared facilities.

Our Bay is small, has cabins on one side and 2 boathouses on the other. There's a 5 mph buoy in the bay, so the limited boat traffic moves slowly. It's great for swimming and snorkeling. If you have toddlers, there is a sand beach with lifeguards at Gull Bay,

just a couple of minutes south of us by car (our younger son normally

rides his bike over). The beach is for town residents and doesn’t get

much use. The boat launch is also located there. You’re welcome to use

both town facilities.

The row boat that comes with the camp allows for some exploring of the

lake (great morning exercise!) and the "U"-shaped crib dock will

accommodate your boats (rentals are available nearby). Although we're not a

fishing family, our neighbor is always proving how great the fishing

can be.

For the 2017 season we're providing wi-fi and a remodeled kitchen with a dishwasher.

During the summer months (end of June through Labor Day), we restrict our rentals to full weeks only. Outside of the summer season we have a 3 night minimum stay.

We ask that our guests be related family members. The person responsible for the cabin must be at least 25 years of age.

Comfortable and relaxing, the cabin has a queen sized bed plus bunk beds in a separate room. We also have a sleeping loft that is very popular with kids. We supply linens for the beds and bath, but you are expected to bring your own beach towels. There is also a futon in the living room and also one on the screened porch. The porch overlooks the lake and most folks spend much of their time there when not on the dock. The lakeside hammock is great for napping. The gas grill is the favorite for summer cooking. The kitchen is complete with coffee and espresso makers. There's a TV with a DVD/VCR and an FM radio. A selection of classic games (not electronic), videos, toys, books can keep you busy in the evenings.

Great family rental!

  • 5 of 5

Don and Kathy met us when we arrived and brought the greatest chocolate milk. They helped us unload the car and showed us around the cabin. The cabin was well equipped with everything. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was clean. Although you're off the grid there are plenty of movies and games. The wild life we saw were alot of deer, humming birds, fox and chipmunks. The view from the front porch was incredible. We barbequed daily. There is a butcher 10 minutes away. All I can say is that it is a great rental.

Very enjoyable !!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is a very enjoyable vacation cottage ! Don & Cathy made us feel very welcome - they provided us with some delicious native corn on the cob , and some fantastic chocolate milk from a local farm. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The views overlooking the lake are very picturesque and the water very clean and refreshing. There are some trails just across the street that take you up to a beautiful overlook of the Lake George area. Overall I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a retreat !

Most folks come to the cabin to enjoy the Lake. The major 'tourist'

attractions are at the southern end of the Lake in Lake George

Village. The 40 minute drive will get you to the outlet malls, Great

Escape (theme park), Lake Cruises, wax museum, miniature golf, etc.

Ticonderoga (15 minutes north) has restaurants and some shopping. Fort

Ticonderoga, the site of the first 'battle' of the Revolutionary

war, draws visitors from around the world.

Golf, tennis and horseback riding can be found in the general area.

All the attractions of Vermont are a short drive away.
