Perfect House For Our Vacation!
All we were looking for was a decent house to stay in while we spent the week checking out what northern-Michigan has to offer. Little did we know how fantastic the house would be! We had 4 adults and 4 kids, and at no point did we ever feel like we didn't have enough space, or that we didn't have what we needed. Appliances and furniture were all in spectacular shape. Plenty of room in the driveway for parking and grilling. Great back yard to let the kids play. And from the two upper decks... WHAT A VIEW! Perfect for early morning or late afternoon quiet time! The next time we plan on coming back, we plan on staying here!
A piece of Heaven
My wife and I are from Michigan, and when we come home, it is difficult to see everybody since my family lives in the Detroit area, and her family lives in Gaylord. We spend more time traveling during our trip home than we do enjoying it. We decided to rent a waterfront home for a week and let everyone come to us for a change. This worked out to be perfect. The home was very spacious and well equipped for all of our needs. We had family and friends come and visit throughout the week. We love how this home is nicely located for short day trips. We ventured out to the Oswald Bear Ranch, Tahq. Falls (both), Soo Locks, Mack. Island, and Mackinaw City. We truly enjoyed our stay and loved our accommodations. Though the homeowner does not live near the location, she has a wonderful care taker (Darlene) for the home that lives less than a mile away. Her smile and awesome personality was beyond a welcoming sight. She was great with pointing us in any direction to get to whatever we needed. We were sad when our week came to an end and we had to go back to reality :-). Thank you very much for letting us use your home and allowing us to make wonderful memories with our kids. I would come back to this place again in a heart beat and would recommend it to anyone.
Thrilled that my lakefront abode gave your family the space and time to create wonderful memories...they are more valuable than gold and silver!
Like Living on the Ocean with a Beer Budget Price
We stayed for a week and enjoyed all the room the property had to offer. Property has a beautiful view of the Macinac Bridge which is larger than the golden gate bridge in SF. Delightful weather 60's-80's, quiet location, very large deck overlooking the water. Plenty of utensils, cleaning company called to make sure everything was going well. TV stations are hit and miss with antenna but we rented videos from REDBOX and it was nice that the TV didnt offer much because everyone dis-connected and actually talked so dont be discouraged by this minor inconvenience. All Queen beds and great master Bedroom. 4th bed is located in a very large game room without a door but its panoramic view overlooked the water so it was a very accommodating trade-off . Very nice property and we would highly recommend staying here over ANY hotel in the area. What a great house for the price!!!!
Labor Day week review, 2013
We found the house immaculate and beautiful in every way!! It was so spacious and the kitchen was perfect!! We loved having a view from the kitchen, but it was spectacular from many rooms. The kitchen was so well equipped, we didn't need to bring anything. It was great to have a large laundry room with a washer and dryer. We enjoyed the bridge walk, beaches, St Ignace, Tehquenemon Falls, Whitefish Pt, and Sault Ste Marie. Darlene, the property manager, was helpful, friendly, and awesome.
Beautiful Home and View
Thank you for the use of your beautiful home on Lake Michigan. The house is very clean and very comfortable! Great decor!! Located close to St. Ignace, we visited it's quaint shops, museums, and restaurants. We also walked on the boardwalk. We visited Whitefish Point, Paradise, Tahquamenon Falls, and took the boat tour along the Pictured Rocks in Munising.
My grandchildren had lots of fun swimming on the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan 2-3 miles from the house. On Saturday we enjoyed the parade of corvettes in St. Ignace and later watched the fireworks from the deck and the view of the Mackinac Bridge is spectacular.
Thanks also to Darlene for the upkeep of the house.
WOW...you all did some adventuring! St. Ignace is a great place to unpack your bags and do day trips! Love the beaches of Lake Michigan too! Did you get a chance to see a sunset along the beach? Fireworks on Saturday night is so much fun too! I'm so glad you liked the house! I will tell Darlene you appreciated her hard work cleaning! Family time is so important....glad I could provide the venue for your family and you!
Thank you so much for the use of your Home. Beautiful Home, Fantastic view of the bridge. Bedrooms were very nice and the view from the basement room is phenomenal.
We would/will stay again.
I'm so happy you enjoyed my beautiful Lake MI abode! I agree-the downstairs bedroom has the absolute BEST view of the lake and trees-you feel enveloped in nature and nurture! I'm so happy to provide a getaway for families to laugh and bond!
St. Ignace is a terrific home base for your family's vacation. The ferry to Mackinac Island, grocery store, marina, library, post office, hospital are 8 miles away. Indian Casino in town, 50 miles North are the famous Soo Locks or cross the International bridge to visit Canada. Head South across the bridge to visit Mackinaw City, historical Mill Creek, Petoskey or Harbor Springs. Hiking is available on North Country Trail. Tahquamenon Falls in Paradise are awesome. St. Ignace has a 9-hole golf course, or visit Hessel or Drummond Island or Mackinac Island for 18 holes. Head W on US #2 to watch the sunset along the sand dunes of Lake Michigan. Don't forget to try our great fresh fish, whitefish, trout, perch, and walleye!
