We recently asked a guest if he felt the property matched up to the advert and our own info.

His response was 'Your advert could have made more of the incredible views from lounge and balcony and the superb location in terms of convenient, easy access to everything Dartmouth has to offer'.

Well, we thought we'd already mentioned that in the advert but we'll let his comments re-emphasise those points!

The property is equipped with everything you would require for a relaxing holiday in Devon. The accommodation comprises of the following: there are two bedrooms, one of which has a handbasin. There is a separate bathroom with bath and shower. The lounge is comfortable and has a TV, Video, HiFi system & wireless internet. The modern kitchen area is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. Parking is available either outside the property or a public carpark is available approx 2 minutes walk away.

Bed linen and exit clean included in rates. Please bring towels.

"We really enjoy this property because of the position and of course the views. The property is very clean and comfortable - we’ve enjoyed several visits there now. The owners really have thought of everything and it is very well equipped.

It’s great first thing in the morning, walking into the lounge and looking out, straight down the estuary, out to sea. Nice to look out one window and sometimes spot cows or sheep on the hillside then look out the other window straight onto the Dart estuary!

Would recommend it. In fact we already have recommended it to friends!”

Our Dartmouth delight

This was our 4th year returning to Dart View and we are already booked for 2018! The property is located centrally within walking distance of the town centre. There are many restaurants to choose from right on your doorstep. With so much to do in Dartmouth and the surrounding areas we keep coming back for more - our little ones favourite is crabbing from the promenade.

The property is of a high standard and very comfortable. The balcony overlooks the estuary and Kingswear and the view is absolutely stunning!

There are a variety of beaches within 30 minutes drive, our favourite is Bantham beach. Other worthwhile visits include Totnes and Paignton zoo.

We can not recommend this enough, an absolute must!

Great views of the river in the heart of Dartmouth

This turned out to be a very handy location with great views of the river within a short walk of the harbour front and shops. The apartment was clean and reasonably well appointed, but note the need to bring towels - this is mentioned in the apartment details but not quite clearly. There is a small terrace off the lounge with excellent views over the estuary - pity there was no table for the terrace. The apartment could sleep 4 but this would be a bit of a squeeze, especially in the lounge area. However, as there was just the 2 of us the apartment size was more than adequate. Overall we would say the apartment offered value for the price paid.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for the review. Greatly appreciated. Thought it might be helpful for other readers to mention that during the main holiday periods, 90% of our bookings are from parties of four and to date, we have received no negative feedback regarding lack of space in lounge area. It's a reasonably compact kitchen and lounge area however this is fairly clear from the photos. Our family and other guests do seem to enjoy it. There is a three seater sofa (with river views) and an arm chair. In keeping with most properties so close to the river, the (purely practical) reason for no table on the balcony is that items of outdoor furniture left outside tend to get covered in seagull poo (not good). Chairs are provided for the balcony and these tend to be left in the lounge between bookings. As owners, it might be difficult for us to be 100% impartial with our comments but regarding the size of the balcony we would refer to it as a good size (especially in the context of old, Dartmouth town property ). Putting it into context, the balcony was , at one time, going to be converted to a sun room however we preferred to have direct access from lounge to some useful outside space. Amazing views, lovely compact apartment

You couldn't find a better location in Dartmouth and the views from the lounge and the balcony upstairs are fantastic. There is so much to see on the river all day long. It's situated right in the heart of the town, so easy to walk everywhere. The accommodation is compact, but it works really well. It's very well equipped and very clean. There's a lot of attention to detail by the owner which makes it easy to find your way around. Overall this is an ideal spot for a holiday in Dartmouth.

Great location

This property is in the ideal location to enjoy the harbour and just a few feet away from the lovely shops in town. We stayed with our baby and it was the perfect base. The place was very well equipped. Our only suggestion to the owner ( who was very helpful) would be to consider reducing the number of 'instructions' around the house and updating the information folder so that it isnt such a huge document!We would recommend the flat as a good base from which to explore this gorgeous part of the country. We also recommend cafe Ode at Gara rock-amazing food and views!

We agree - in an ideal world, we'd prefer to cut down to a bare minimum the amount of info provided to guests however, over the years, the preference to have emerged from guests is for them to have comprehensive info in the property (I.E. if they need it, it's there. If not, that's great). Guests seem to prefer this as they don't have to call us or our housekeeper for information. Probably not a perfect system but it seems to work reasonably well. Many thanks.

DartView - oh boy what a view!

DartView is indeed a wonderful place to stay. Perfectly situated above Bayard's Cove with excellent walks starting right outside the front door. All that Dartmouth has to offer is within minutes or a wonderful stroll / brief ferry crossing away. The house itself is perfect for a private getaway or a base to explore South Hams, it has everything you could need and has a wonderful warm welcoming feeling (even in February!). The views out to sea are mesmerizing, and enjoying a cup of tea on the balcony watching the boats sail by was a daily pleasure. I would definitely book DartView again in the future.

Dartmouth with its beautiful old-world centre is considered the capital of the South Hams, famous for peaceful rolling countryside, renowned coastline, excellent beaches (Blue Flag status) & coastal walks along footpaths leading to secluded beaches. Dartmouth’s focal point is its bustling harbour and broad, wooded river. The town is designated a Conservation Area with 16th and 17th century timbered buildings, historic narrow streets, beautiful old shops, intimate pubs and excellent restaurants. Beach lovers will enjoy Sugary Cove near Dartmouth Castle as well as the beautiful Blackpool Sands and the long, unspoilt expanse of beach at Slapton Sands both of which are approximately 10 minutes drive.
