Red House on the Hill on Dam Lake in Eagle River, WI, offers four season lodging just southwest of downtown Eagle River on the 5 lake Sugar Camp Chain. This 2 bedroom, 1 bath air conditioned rental is located on the north shore of Dam Lake with 275' of sandy shoreline. There are 10 acres on the water with an additional 50 acres across the road abutting the American Legion State Forest for hunting, hiking, biking and exploring. The home has a queen size bed in the master bedroom and a set of twin beds in the second bedroom. The living room has a spectacular view of the lake and has a wood burning fireplace and a queen size sofa sleeper. The home has a beautiful country kitchen overlooking the woods. There is a lakeside deck with a million dollar view of Dam Lake. The Sugar Camp Chain has a total of 2300 acres of water that includes Dam Lake, Sand Lake, Stone Lake, Echo Lake, and Chain Lake. This is a wonderful body of water with Canadian like backwaters for excellent fishing and exploring and for the photographers there are abundant eagle, osprey and loon nests. This property is ideal for hunting as you walk from your door onto 50 acres of private woods abutting the American Legion State Forest. In the Winter, snowmobile from your door onto hundreds of miles of the best groomed and marked trails in the country, as the Eagle River Sno-Eagles, St. Germain Bo-Boen and Sugar Camp Snowmobile trails all merge at Dam Lake (the popular trail #15). ****PLEASE NOTE: Until Google Maps updates their maps, there are road names on Google Maps that are incorrectly placed. What Google has listed as "Sunrise Lane" is actually our driveway, and the house is located at the end of the driveway, on the lake. (What Google shows as "Twin Shores Ct" is actually "Sunrise Lane.)
My wife and I with our 2 young kids and a dog stayed here and had a really fun time. The kids loved swimming in the water. The house is clean, the kitchen is fully stocked and the deck has an awesome view of the lake. We were able to grill and eat outside on the picnic table and often ended the night with a campfire. Eagle River is close by which was great for a day trip to the children's museum.
