About Sally Shea
Aanii, my name is Sally. I was born on the Iron Range and grew up in a small town north of Minneapolis where I owned and operated a beauty salon for 15 years. Our family moved to Duluth in 1999 and I returned to school in 2002 to get my healthcare degree. I turned our home into a vacation rental a few years ago because I love the privacy and remote setting this home offers.
Sally Shea purchased this House in 1999
Why Sally Shea chose Duluth
I loved this home because its close to nature and provides many comfortable areas to relax indoor and outdoor. The property is on 10 acres and provides a quiet, comfortable experience for our guests. New hardwood floors make it great for Quilting and Crafting groups as we have rolling office chairs and folding tables to accommodate up to 10 group size. Separate living room with big screen TV, DVD player, Satellite TV and large comfortable leather couch with love seat and lounging chairs. The house has three levels so there is always a quiet space to relax, even with large groups.
What makes this House unique
Sauna room with shower - This was completed in early 2016 and has been a great addition to what we can provide for our guests. The three decks provide enough space for large group retreats during the day and also a great place to enjoy a peaceful morning cup of coffee. Camp Fire Area - Seating for 6 - 8 around a cozy camp fire. S'mores anyone? Canal Park - Restaurants, gift and coffee shops, the board walk on Lake Superior. And be sure to experience the worlds only working Aerial Lift Bridge. Many Beaches and parks are further down after you cross over the bridge. North Shore Scenic Route - Get a beautiful view of Lake Superior on the scenic route toward Two Harbors. In the summer months, there are many scenic areas close to the property including Hawks Ridge for an awesome view of Lake Superior, and Seven Bridges Road where you can see many waterfalls and very interesting bridges (which runs to Lester Park and a unique swimming hole called, "the deeps," by the locals.) Great place to see the fall colors and enjoy the summer months. In the winter months, The John Beargrease dogsled race runs within a few miles of the property. Snowmobile groups will enjoy the proximity of the C. J. Ramstad Minnesota trail which is 2 miles away. For the Cross Country folks Korkki groomed ski trails are a short distance from the house. After a day in the woods come and warm your bones in the Sauna,a great way to relax and end the day.

Beautiful secluded house in Duluth. Perfect for our family attending a wedding. Plenty of amenities, and gathering places within the home and decks. Highly recommended
Very nice set up for a group of 12 guys. Clean house. Lots of room.
It was a great stay!!!
We reached about check in time and Sally ran us through the whole property and all the rules and restrictions. The house is quite private and the rooms were clean and plenty of space. We were a group of 11. The master bathroom does not have a standing shower but has a jacuzzi. Plenty of living space to hang out. Overall great stay. Because its surrounded by trees, carry plenty mosquito repellents.
Spacious, private, beautiful landscape
My family (consisting of 7 kids and 9 adults) chose this house to stay in for our annual summer vacation. There were enough beds for all of us to sleep in (which is usually our biggest feat), there was enough indoor and outdoor space to roam and have privacy or quiet time if needed. The yard is beautiful with lots of trees and plenty of room for our kids to run around, the fire pit and sauna are an added bonus. The kitchen is very well stocked with anything you could need. There was Netflix access to the TV which came in handy when the kids needed to wind down. Plenty of bathrooms and towels (in other homes and hotels we’ve stayed in, towels are very limited - not here!). Sally was very pleasant, helpful and great to work with...she was there to any any questions I had. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.
Clean, peaceful, and spacious for large group!
Sally is wonderful and the home is very nice! It is a little far out of town, but very quiet and peaceful. The home is kept very clean, beds and pillows very comfortable, and lots of supplies were included (dishes, towels, TP, napkins, seasonings). The only thing I would suggest is that VRBO updates the listing as it says it has AC, but actually does not. We specifically booked a place with AC and found out it did not when we arrived; however, thankfully the only day it got pretty warm in the house was the first day. After that, the nights were cool and we had a nice breeze during the day.
Im so glad you stayed at my home. I have to say im confused where you saw that there is air conditioning. Thats not on my VRBO listing. Im so sorry for the confusion.
There are many attractions in Duluth, as exciting as Grandma's Marathon and the Bayfront Blues Festival to bird watching at Hawks and the season change with the wonderful autumn colors. What ever you are coming for, to relax or get involved It's a wonderful place. The history is also intriguing, Seven bridges road and the Glensheen Historic Estate or just going to one of the many beaches and soaking up the sun.
