Recently widower who built the space for family and friends. The business is a side-job, and I may be delayed with responses. I reside in the main house built in 1908 with my small dog, Lola, a schnoodle.
The owner has since replaced both the refrigerator and freezer with stylish undercounter slide-in refrigerator drawers. Gas cook top and oven and compact dishwasher. The comm network works well and is connected to an in-house HP OfficeJet printer/scanner. The owner is a delight and very responsive, working with you to answer any questions and solve any problems that may arise. The neighborhood has nearly everything, including a Whole Foods and proximity to the Balboa Park Zoo (both 10-minute walks). There is one private, off-street parking space. We've stayed at this property a number of years and would recommend it highly.
The property is clean and wonderful but it is a bit dated in terms of home theater, sofa, and refrigerator. I did bring my Roku to plug into the A/V system but it only uses Analog so I would suggest upgrading the surround sound to 2013 to 2015 A/V receiver model and the speaker is in great shape plus the T.V. don't have HDMI function as well but the Vizio or Samsung is an inexpensive selection of T.V. plus 4k is a future proofing option. Updating to a server option for music and movies that people can connect their phone or laptop. The sofa is very worn from over the years a bit dated and a new sofa is recommended. The freezer does not freeze food or ice cream at all and the setting is on the coldest. Other than that I don't mind booking the property again!
My Husband and I chose Hashi House for our Honeymoon. I was so impressed with the property and the hospitality of the Owner. The environment was so relaxing that after a day of adventure we were able to calm down and rest easy. We had absolutly everything we needed for our week long stay and the location was absolutly perfect. We walked most everywhere every day and the drives to the beach and places we wanted to go were quite short. It was definetly the best experience i could have asked for!!! We definetly plan on coming back in the future!
My husband and I were visiting family in the area, and really loved this little hideaway. It's clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The kitchen is large and fully equipped, and the loft is in a very convenient location. It is an easy walking distance to many restaurants, shops, etc. The extended walls and high windows let in lots of light and gives it a spacious feeling. Although parking is extremely tight, that's typical of anyplace in San Diego. Bob is a wonderful host. We live in Mexico and are pleased to find a secure place to stay when we come to San Diego. We'll be back.
We stayed at Hashi House with our yellow Lab for the month of February and found it a comfortable and convenient location from which to explore San Diego. The apartment itself is very well designed and attractively finished; high ceilings and windows on three sides create a bright and airy interior. The kitchen is well-stocked with all amenities and we appreciated having a washer and dryer on site. Though access is via a back lane, the neighborhood is quiet, safe and secure. Hashi House is terrifically well situated, only a block from fabulous Balboa Park with its urban canyons and pedestrian trails. The Hillside area is vibrant, eclectic and very walkable; we loved strolling the neighborhood admiring homes and gardens. Grocery stores, a Sunday market, fun restaurants and pubs, a movie theatre, health services, gym --- all are a short walk away, as is public transit to downtown. Owner Bob was a friendly and helpful host, quick to respond when contacted. All in all, excellent value for money.
2 blocks from I-163 then just a short drive to I-5, I-8, I-805, I-15.
Shopping is within walking distance (2 blocks) and includes, coffee
shops, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, supermarket, restaurants and
theaters. Balboa park is a short walk away, as are the San Diego Zoo
and museums. Minutes drive from local beaches, Gas Lamp district, Old
Town, Sea World, Mission Bay and the airport.
