About M. A. Shope

We purchased the property in 1999 when I was living in northwest Arkansas. Now, I live 3 hours away (to take care of my mother) and really wish I had more time to unwind sitting by the water with a good book. I have ALWAYS felt refreshed after a visit, even if it was only for a day. I really enjoy strolling the shoreline at twilight or getting in my little dingy at daybreak with a cup of coffee to quietly explore. I like taking naps in one of the several swings at SummerSong...just looking up into the leaf canopy of the oak trees is a wonder. There is nothing like nature to restore our spirit. SummerSong has always been a retreat from the busyness and noise of everyday life for me, and I am glad to be able to share this experience with others and know you will enjoy the cabin as well. I am always anxious to do anything I can to make your time at the cabin just the best, so always call me if you have any questions or concerns. Look forward to meeting you!

M. A. Shope purchased this cabin in 1999

Why M. A. Shope chose Arkansas

Thanks for considering SummerSong for your Beaver Lake getaway. I purchased the cabin in 1999 after looking at several properties on the lake. I like to swim, and at SummerSong, I could just stop the lawnmower when I got hot and literally, "go jump in the lake" to cool off. I didn't want a place I had to access by car or navigate (sometimes scoot down) a long, steep pathway to the water. No long treks with tubes, floaters, etc. Just walk across the yard. Exactly what I wanted--an enchanting place to enjoy and to play. Also "Don't take your ego to the lake" is a quote that resonated with me. I was looking for a simple cabin that would lend itself to immediate relaxation and comfort.

What makes this cabin unique

Right on the water! Fantastic views. Immediate relaxing atmosphere. Excellent access for fishing. No drop-offs to worry over with children. Rocking chairs on front deck. Swings for napping. Great deck to get that vacation tan!
