2017 Prime July Weeks/Higgins Beach

Bedrooms 4
Half Baths1
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 1 - 14 nights

About the property

Cottage, 4 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, 8 Sleeps

Rare opportunity at Higgins Beach! As more and more former rental cottages become purchased and renovated private family beach houses, there are fewer and fewer cottages available for weekly rentals. We've had a long standing family who has switched their July weeks for August. This unusual happening allows for a new family a chance to claim prime weeks at a GREAT cottage for their own. JUNE 24- JULY 22nd. SeaSpree, a wonderful, traditional Maine beach house where everything is easy for you and your family to enjoy beautiful Higgins Beach! The cottage is roomy and we strive to maintain the fun authentic cottage style while making improvements. Just a half block from the ocean, you can see the surf(if you stand on tiptoes) from our sunporch. Walk out the door and be there in two minutes. Our sunporch has french type doors and can be closed off for quiet time, nap or cocktail hour. The bedrooms are: one king, another queen, one single and one bunkroom with three built in bunks. Kitchen is large, sunny and set up for a family(no dishwasher yet--sorry). Bathrooms have lots of hot water and nice, big shower. There's plenty to do with Higgins being one of the best surfing and fishing beaches in the Northeast. Golf options are plentiful nearby. Weekly breakfasts and dinners at Association Clubhouse are reasonably priced and fun for all ages with guaranteed to win raffles for the little ones. There's a nice fruit stand right up the street or pop into The Higgins Beach Inn for lunch on the deck or dinner. SeaSpree is well appointed with most families returning year after year. PLEASE NOTE--Photo #8(with flag) is photo of beach, house is not SeaSpree. MULTI WEEKS RECEIVE BOOKING PREFERENCE :)

About Gina Day

As a Portland local growing up summers at Higgins, I knew this was where I wanted to be when it was time to buy a place for myself to live upon moving from my family home.

Gina Day purchased this cottage in 1987

Why Gina Day chose Southern Coast of Maine

SeaSpree was perfect as it was owned by beach friends who had purchased it from the original owner for their large family to summer. The family was known to take good care of things and the cottage was in nearly original condition.

What makes this cottage unique

The detached bunkhouse in the back yard allowed me, as a young working girl, to rent SeaSpree yet live independently. At that time, one knew most everybody at Higgins as it was typical for generation after generation to vacation here; the faces now may be new but are still of friendly, mostly family folks.
