Located on upper level of the historic Pier 14 Pilot Station (still operated by the Columbia River Pilots) the Pilot House is an elegantly appointed luxury suite in the heart of Astoria's historic waterfront. Surrounded by water, nearly every room offers a panoramic view of the Columbia River.

The 1700 square foot unit has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths with 4 gas fireplaces. The spacious living room has leather furniture with a queen-size sofa bed. There is a fully equipped gourmet kitchen with a dining room that can seat 10 people. The master bedroom suite has a king size bed, full bathroom with Jacuzzi bathtub and shower with a private deck off to the river.

The Pilot House has the warmth and feel of a home with high-end features of a four-star hotel. The building was restored in 2005 and is listed on the National Historic Register of Historic places. Inside you will find museum quality maritime artifacts throughout.

Astoria is the perfect getaway for any interest... history, outdoor adventure, or maritime activity. The Pilot House is within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and many local attractions. Both the 5-mile river walk and trolley line run right outside the door.

Great place to stay, even for locals!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay at the Pilot House. It was perfect for my wife's surprise 40th birthday party. Teresa was great to work with for all the reservation coordination. Had a little hiccup in the checkout process, but they took care of the issue and I believe they are making changes to prevent problems for future guests. Overall great experience.

What a fantastic place in a really great location!

  • 5 of 5

I just returned home from a girls shopping weekend at the Pilot House and it was amazing! Plenty of room, lots of bathrooms (3 and all with showers), comfortable beds, an amazing view, etc. I can't say enough about it. Walking distance to everything. Although we enjoyed the house so much we spent the bulk of our time around the dining room table watching the ships roll in and out and hoping for a lightning storm. We had such a wonderful time that we're hoping to make this an annual trip and add a third night as we all hated to leave this morning! I'd highly recommend this place.

Love it and will be back again.

  • 5 of 5

We love the Pilot house and we are definitely planning to come back here again. The house has everything for everyone including for the little ones. They have a baby gate that can be put up for the stairs for the little one safety. We have our 1 yr old with us so it was a very nice surprise for us. The view is gorgeous and we just sat and enjoy the ships coming in and out for the whole day. The kitchen is fully stocked and everything was clean and perfectly working. The TV remote was running out of battery and they left the batteries on the front door to replace them. The gentleman who works at the pilot house below recommended us to go to Sunday market and I'm glad we did. It was a very nice market with a lot of local goods and fresh fruits/veggies. River front Trolley is right at the corner and all the good restaurants are short walks away. We didn't want to leave after our 2 night there for labor day weekend.

Loved the seafront views and the house was beautifully maintained. Loved the twin showers and the jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, as well as the Smart TV in the living room. Would definitely stay here again!

Delightful stay at the Pilot House

  • 5 of 5

This is the fourth time I have stayed at the Pilot House and I can't recommend it more highly. It is clean and very well equipped. The view of the Columbia and all the river traffic is awesome. It's great to be able to walk all over Astoria which is a fun town - nice shops and restaurants. And I think it is well managed.

Perfect location and fabulous view!

  • 5 of 5

Kudos to the decorator!! Great detail with Astoria's history in mind. Four of the 6 of us grew up in Astoria and appreciated the great touches of nostalgia. We were 3 couples and it was spacious enough for all. On the go all weekend and what a great refuge at the end of the day. Sitting in front of the fire sipping wine was heaven.

Lovely bathroom amenities and we all (1 robe was MIA when we arrived) enjoyed the fluffy robes. Appreciated the washer/dryer as 4 of us are on extended vacations.

Overall a 5 star experience!

PS the wine opener needs replacing it was broken.
