We have rented probably 20 vacation homes through VRBO all over the country and this condo rates at the very top of that list! The location is perfect, a short 2 hr drive from metro Puget Sound - Seattle and you are transported into the splendor of western Washington's Cascade mountains. A stone's throw to a beautiful state park with groomed Nordic ski trails (there are also groomed trails that connect to the state park right outside your patio, on the golf course), a gorgeous mountain lake (Lake Wenatchee), a small country grocery store about a mile away for that little thing you forgot, 20 miles to the Bavarian-themed town of Leavenworth (take the back road through the town of Plain, what a beautiful drive!). In winter you can ski and snowshoe, in summer, swim, boat, raft and hike to your hearts content.
The things we loved about this rental:
It is so beautifully quiet here (probably more so in winter but also probably very nice in summer as well).
The unit is 1st floor, easy to access, there is a covered parking spot.
The owner was friendly and very attentive to our questions. The important instructions for operating things within the unit were clear, concise and easy to locate.
The price is right and feels like a very good value..
The place is very (very!) clean and organized, the kitchen well stocked. You can actually cook a good meal here! There is a stocked spice rack and basic condiments in the refrigerator, something that would seem obvious in a rented kitchen but is so often overlooked. One comment here from a couple of years ago lamented the state of the cookware...just an example of the attentiveness of the owner...there is a very nice set of KitchenAid pots and pans now...very much appreciated by me, the primary cook in our family.
The beds and bedrooms are roomy and very comfortable. The baths clean and fresh. The king bed in the master has a thick memory foam top that makes it about the most comfortable bed we've slept in. Plenty of blankets and towels. There is even a shampoo and soap dispenser in the master shower, something that again, makes the place feel organized. The owner thought about what is nice in a rental and provided it. So refreshing!
Everything worked as it should, nothing felt like it had been cobbled together to make it work. If it had a function, it worked. Much appreciated!
Rent this place for your next get away!
We really enjoyed our time at Kahler Glen. The home is quiet, very comfortable, clean and well outfitted. We visited with 4 adults and felt there was plenty of room for everybody to visit and relax. The price is very reasonable; we felt it was a great value. The owner is very easy to work with, obviously takes pride in the home and seems to really care that you enjoy your experience. The home appears to have been recently updated.
Kahler Glen is a beautiful location right next to the State Park on Lake Wenatchee. There are great hikes in the area and just a short drive to several interesting trail heads. It's about a 30 minute drive to the kitschy Bavarian style town of Leavenworth, great fun during Oktoberfest. We were there to run a marathon and to hike. We appreciated the over sized hot tub for soothing tired muscles.
Even though it was very dry, we were able to find Chanterelle and Matsutake mushrooms in the forest which made for some amazing meals. What would have made this a 5 star experience for me would have been an upgrade in cookware. Otherwise the kitchen is well outfitted with nice place settings fitting to the decor of the home.
All and all, it was a great experience and we hope to visit again soon.
What a great condo. Felt very much at home. It was good to see the golfers go by. The hot tub was a treat. Lots of games, movies and good music. It was a complete package. The owner was great to work with. Provided good information for food sources and was just a pleasure to deal with.
The golf course only has a slope of 111 par 70 but it kicked our ----. Really a fun experience.
