Why Christina Ahmed chose Ridge Manor
When we found this home we were awed by its unique situation between the oak trees. As if they were cradling the home. We loved the park like setting next to the river, so peaceful and quiet. with the occasional passerby in a canoe. The area the house is set on is near to where the historic Dade Battlefield occurred back in December 1835. You can really see old Florida in the Talisman Riverhouse property.
What makes this House unique
When we visit the Riverhouse we usually spend most of the time relaxing by the river and enjoying the many wildlife sightings. It is very calm and quiet there. The trees and secluded nature of the property are what make this place special. It is most appealing to those who love nature and don't mind a little rustic comforts. My husband has really enjoyed using this as his hunting cabin since the Green Swamp Wilderness Preserve is 20 minutes down the road.

Unique Magical Home
We spent a weekend at this home. 4 adults and 2 children. VERY UNIQUE. The area right before the house is not the greatest so we were a bit concerned but when we reached the drive we found an amazing home sitting back in the woods on the river. The house and property are great. We had everything we needed and the kids had a great time exploring the property. We were traveling with our German friend who really thought the inside of the house looked like something fairytale like and out of a small town in Germany. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone. The owners were great and communication was perfect. Chris even called us to return some clothing we had left. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
We had a most wonderful time!! It was the best vacation we have had in FL.
Very tranquil, relaxing and peaceful!!
We had a great time! It was a very relaxing and peaceful weekend. The cottage had everything we needed and the beds were comfy. Spent the days hanging by the river and exploring the wooded lot. Had a friendly visit from a raccoon. Loved hearing the frogs and owls while sitting by a cozy fire in the fire pit. Highly recommend if you a looking for someplace to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle. Would definitely stay again. Thank you the Harding's
AMAZING RELAXING STAY
Every year my family and I go on a trip to get away from the mayhem in Miami and experience different parts of Florida. This has been an amazing relaxing experience. We DEFINITELY became stress free here. Greg was by far one of the BEST HOST. He was always available to answer any questions or suggestions of where to go. He greeted us when we got there and went ahead and showed us his river home. Beautiful home! We enjoyed the river that flows behind us, and definitely enjoyed the fishing :)! Thank you so much Greg for your wonderful home and giving us the opportunity to relax and enjoy life away from Miami. Much much appreciated! If you want to get away from it all, definitely come here :) But this is meant for those who are not afraid to get dirty and love the woods. Definitely a woodsy area, beautiful views though!
Rustic beauty & serenity
Lovely riverside property with wonderful views, nestled in privacy.
Surrounding homes in community are not so pretty, so don't plan on taking a stroll in the neighborhood.
Our family stayed here for the Clemson/Alabama Natn'l Championship game down in Tampa. The house was a great place...tucked away on the river with a great atmosphere. We're campers, and we enjoyed the secluded, laid-back feel of this place. And the orange trees were an added plus...we may or may not have had a few Blue Moon w fresh orange slices. We would definitely stay here again.
This vacation home embraced by ancient oaks sits directly on a spectacular stretch of the upper reaches of the Withlacoochee River (where it exits the state forest). It is situated at the end of a lime rock road that forms a private and secluded point on the river. Directly across the river on the other bank is the former Florida Creek Indian Tribal Grounds. This riverfront retreat offers incredible scenic beauty magical in the simple diversity of the river wildlife and its peaceful surroundings. Whether you find your relaxing pleasure in fishing, boating/kayaking, observing bird life, or just reading that book you have been meaning to get to, you will be delighted with all the opportunities offered by the Riverhouse. Located approximately 8 miles North of Dade City near US 301, the Riverhouse is less than 1 hour away from all the major central Florida attractions (to the Northeast) as well as within less than an hour of the Tampa Bay metro area (to the Southwest), yet you may find it more pleasurable to simply stay in this rural area and enjoy the many entertainment festivities that seem to be ongoing throughout the year from the several different town communities. Whether it is a day at Rock Springs (near Apopka), horseback riding in Sumter County (in the Bushnell area) or taking your exercise on the state designated trail, we doubt that you will run out of things to do. For those less inclined to physical activities, there are also the antiquing opportunities both in Dade City or in Mt. Dora. We even have our own drive-in theater and nearby local 'country' golf courses all at unbelievably low prices.
