Very clean, comfortable and friendly place to stay!
We so enjoyed our stay at Dennis and Beverly’s cottage! It is in a quiet and nice neighborhood and is a short walk from a beautiful Maine beach! The landscaping around the house is beautiful and well maintained. The house itself is clean, comfortable, and very well stocked with top quality soaps, lotions, towels, etc. We stayed as a family of 5 in the house and felt we had plenty of space. Everything was in perfect working order. Dennis and Beverly were very welcoming and friendly and gave great suggestions for things to do and places to eat in the area. They were very available for any questions we had or anything we needed. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back in the future! We highly recommend this cute cottage to anyone visiting this area.
Perfect for our family. Good size with own yard area for privacy. Bedrooms and beds were a good size. Great location. Walking distance to beach, great for summer months but still chilly for spring. We spent a lot of time in Portland and it was a 15 minute drive. Lots of lighthouses to see along route 77. The bedrooms were a little chilly in spring because the central heat was in the main room. I would suggest extra plush blankets to cozy up with. Overall we had a wonderful stay. Owners were very accommodating and supplied a pack and play for toddler.
We thank Paulina you for her five-star review and are glad her family enjoyed their stay.
We are so sorry however that she found the bedroom chilly. I'd hate for potential guests to have the impression that the heat in our cottage is insufficient. Its a 440 square foot house and guests are comfortable at as much as 20 below in the winter. The outside temperature during her stay ranged from 47 degrees F during the day to 31 overnight. My guess is that she didn't see the temperature setting on the heater. Regardless, I wish she had let us know during her one-night stay. It would have been an easy fix and we are more than accommodating to the needs of our guests.
With regards to the bedding - she did locate the extra pillows - but must have missed the extra down alternative comforter. In Maine we dress ourselves and our beds in layers to adjust to the always changing weather conditions. ;-)

Convenient location and great space
The cottage was perfect for my husband, our 3 month old daughter and myself for the Thanksgiving holiday! Although it was cold when we were there, we loved stepping out to the back deck with the small lawn area - can imagine it would be perfect in the summer. We walked on the beach everyday we were there (only 1 block!) and in the evenings - so quiet and serene - only the scent of wood fire on the nose :) We were only a 5 minute drive from family on Cape Elizabeth so it was a great location for us!
The laundry and basic-stocked kitchen was HUGE for us with a newborn. We enjoyed breakfast and some lunches in and even hosted some family for pizza for dinner so the space was perfect. Bev and Dennis were easy to work with, gave us our space but were available for questions or recommendations as needed. We will definitely be back!
Very nice cottage in a very peaceful location
Very nice cottage in a very peaceful location, 5 min from the Higgins Beach from which one has a wonderful view of the coast of Maine.
Mr and Mrs Smith are very friendly and it was possible to stay only one night (mid-October), as we were on our way from the Acadia National Park to the White Mountains area in New Hampshire. The cottage contains everything you need to cook and it has a private yard for children to play. The cottage is very clean. Definitely a place to stay to explore this part of the coast of Maine.
Perfect in every way!
This is our fourth visit to the Smith Cottage. The Cottage is very comfortable- good beds, kitchen well stocked, and very clean. The location is one block to the most beautiful beach in the world!!
Dennis and Beverley are great hosts- very helpful when needed.
The Perfect Retreat
We arrived to a sweet cottage; well furnished and spotlessly clean. We had everything we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked, so you can eat in any time you want. The back deck and small yard are private and very pleasant to spend time in when you are not at the beach. The owners are friendly and available if you need them, while also giving you plenty of privacy. We will be back!
