Visitors to Smoky Sunrise return year after year. It is a special place that will enable you to relax and enjoy nature. The views are stunning and you will not soon forget your visit.
Because it has the most beautiful views of any house we have ever seen. And, those views are from the deck or the living room which is basically a wall of glass. High ceiling in great room gives feeling of great space.
We fell in love with this home because of the expansive living area. When you walk in the door, you see the views through an entire wall of windows. Then you look up and see that the ceiling is two stories high and that it has real structural beams that support a real tongue and groove inner roof layer. Go upstairs to the loft and you can still see the amazing views. As a matter of fact, when you sleep up there, the view of the sunrise is the first thing you see when you wake up in the morning.
I fill nostalgia to leave this cabin, I can't believe that I miss it more than my own home , which by the way, its a very good house , I can't not say it better but we loved Maggie Valley and the cabin, what a cozy and well built cabin, on a perfect spot to see the mountains to east , don't miss the sunrise early in the morning, the owner was very good and helpful, no complaints, there are tons of things to do in the area but it is very hard to leave the cabin, it has everything, I could stay there for a full year, the people of North Carolina are great, not afraid to say Merry Christmas, the restaurants, the food, I love the south, I vacation at least 3 times a year and this time is a place that I would not hesitate to visit again and stayed at the beautiful Smoking Sunrise, it wil be in my heart forever,
The cabin was very spacious and had everything we could need, (condiments, dishes, kitchen gadgets, toiletries, etc.) The sunrise off of the back deck looking out over all the ridges was magical I am not an early morning person but I was up every morning on the back deck with coffee in hand. The cabin is secluded and quiet. After a long day down in Maggie Valley, Cherokee, Asheville or where ever it was excellent to come back to the hot tub and relax and sit by the fire after with a nice glass of wine and a book. If you are looking for quiet time and a place to truly relax this is the cabin for you. We will definitely be making a return visit.
This cabin has one of the best views of any rental I have stayed at! We enjoyed sitting on the deck and in the hot tub taking in the views. The cabin itself was wonderful, very clean and well maintained. Signe was very helpful. Close to the Smokey Mountain National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway so we could do lots of hiking. We look forward to coming back in the future!! Thank you Signe!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay at Smoky Sunrise. The view is incredible! The lovely cabin is well equipped, clean and comfortable. We were concerned about the drive up the mountain after reading one review. From our experience, the drive up was very safe and certainly not even scary. It is however, quite bumpy as was indicated in the directions. The trip was very memorable and enjoyable. Fondest memories were sitting on the porch enjoying cool mountain air, cool temperatures, changing mountain views at sunset and visits from the hummingbirds.

Your generous offer is such a pleasant surprise. We would love to stay forever. Unfortunately we must leave tomorrow. We are both amazed at what we have just experienced. Although I thought that this cabin was a "bought and paid commodity" for me, I have learned it is far beyond that. This beautiful place is not just a rental but obviously your cherished second home. We recognize that and feel privileged indeed that you will share such a treasure with others.
I have never rented a place that was so utterly, perfectly equipped, perhaps over equipped. We walked in the door and were immediately at home.
We don't want to leave and definitely plan to return. Why would one seek heaven further when it has already been found?

We have been vacationing in Maggie Valley for several years and stayed in several different rental properties before we found Smoky Sunrise. It is the ONLY place we now even consider staying. If you want to make daytrips to Asheville, Gatlinburg, or Cherokee, the cabin is ideally located. If you like to hike, the Smoky Mtn National Park is an easy hike from the cabin. There are LOTS of trails and logging roads to explore, so you never have to drive to reach a trail head to hike. I personally enjoy watching the sun rise (or set) over the valley from the hot tub on the deck, and the star gazing is amazing, with or without a telescope. At an elevation well over 4000 feet, the temperatures are always comfortable, no matter how hot is may be down below. If you feel the need to stay connected, the wireless is great (take your laptop out on the deck)and there are loads of channels on the satellite television. The kitchen has everything you need and there is a gas grill. (We do leave once to go catch trout for grilling.) In a week, we usually see 1 or 2 vehicles at most.
We always travel with our dog and this year was the first year for our new black lab mix, Junie, to vacation with us. She loved Smoky Sunrise as much as her predecessor, Elvis, did before her. Whether laying outside on the deck, on her bed in front of the floor to ceiling windows in the living room, or experiencing all the new smells on the trails, Junie had a great time. I cannot say enough good things about the property itself, the manager, or the owners. If you are looking for a true mountain retreat, with all the comforts of home, Smoky Sunrise is the place for you.
