Cabin, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, Sleeps 2
My family and I moved here in 1994. We wanted to live in a beautiful place and as you can see, we are still here. We love the many hiking and riding trails, the little town next to the big City(Colorado Springs) and the many wonderful things this area has to offer. I wear several hats including being a licensed Real Estate Broker, being a Property Manager for some longer term rentals and doing some Professional Step-on Bus Guiding as well. In my spare time, I am a Planning Commissioner in this town that I love. I also ride my horses every chance I get.
Jeanne purchased this Cabin in 1994
Why Jeanne chose Manitou Springs
This Property feels very private but is easy walking distance to all the unique shops and restaurants of Manitou Springs. The cottage sits somewhat secluded from the road. Every effort has been made to make your stay as relaxing and comfortable as you desire.
What makes this Cabin unique
Location & Creature Comforts: 1. The Cottage is truly set up for your pleasure including a very largeJACUZZI tub with a brand tankless water heater so you never run out of hot water to A/C for our few really hot days. There is a REMOTE CONTROL FIREPLACE for cooler weather so come relax in comfort. 2. Some extras include a SHADY PATIO with plenty of outdoor seating. Come enjoy the view and stare at the stars at night. While inside, browse thru a few MENUS of local restaurants. You can preview your choices for dining before you journey out for Dinner. 3. You won't pay for parking. We have our own PRIVATE off- street PARKING with an extra space when guests have a special situation. We can accommodate a short motorcycle trailer or if you have friends coming to visit and need extra parking, we can probably meet those special needs that most properties can not. Just be sure and let us know your needs in advance. 4. The BREAKFAST FIXINS Bonus will be included with any 4 night or longer bookings May-December. With this bonus the Cottage will be stocked with a couple of juices, coffee, creamer, sugar, cereals, Pop Tarts, fresh fruit and a few other extras as well as condiments. All you need to bring is the milk! 5. At the Springs is on the FREE SHUTTLE route that runs all over town year 'round so park your car and take a ride.

Cute and cozy place with great location close to downtown Manitou. Hot tub very nice. Bed extremely comfortable. All was great at this place. Only faults I would say is you must part just off street in private parking with a pretty good uphill walk up a stone set of stairs. Being a flat-lander I was out of breath every time. This place sleeps two well but small if you have more than that. Added notes would be owner very knowledgable of the area and happy to help you out this way.
Charming place to stay, in the perfect location
This cabin is on Ruxton Ave, between the cog railway depot (which is closed for a while due to construction of a new depot on the top of Pike's Peak) and the Barr trailhead (for those who would prefer to hike up to the Peak) on one end, and the town center of Maintou Springs on the other. It's very easy to walk to either. It's cozy and was built in the late 1800s but has most of the mod cons including a jacuzzi tub which we used after a day of strenuous hiking. We were amazed at how close this location is to not only the cog railway, the Barr trail, and central Manitou Springs, but also to the Garden of the Gods, and to Colorado Springs itself. Even when we did drive somewhere, such as to Colorado City (original capital of the Colorado Territory, before it was a state, and now a historic district within Colorado Springs), the drive was short and stress free. The shops and restaurants in Manitou Springs were nice but really it's the proximity to all of the beautiful land features and amazing trailheads that we loved about our stay. The most awesome thing we did was Uber up to the summit of Pike's Peak (actually to the shuttle stop, and then shuttled the rest of the way), and then hiked down the Barr trail all the way to the trailhead that is just around the corner from this cabin. It was strenuous but much easier than hiking up, and more achievable for people in moderate physical condition. It's still a 13.5 mile walk from the summit to the cabin, down from 14.1k feet to about 6.5k, but it's do-able. The cabin is perfectly situated for what we wanted to do.
It’s a hike!
Nice home and location of property was great. The stairs up the hill were not mentioned in the listing and certainly should be. They are not easy to maneuver suitcases up and when guests are not accustomed to the elevation the trek up is a bit tough. The landlord was great.
The place was clean and cozy. Heater in the bedroom and an additional space heater to place around the rest of the area. Private and no one bothers you. My whole stay I came in and out doing my thing and no one made you feel awkward. I highly recommend booking with jeannie...sorry if I spelled her name wrong. I look forward to booking again the same spot. It's right in the middle of all the nature oriented fun. 5 stars
The property was clean and inviting. The owner was great to work with and very helpful.
