LOCATION, location, location. This location can't be beat! We are in "el centro." It is a short 5-6 minute level walk to the "jardin," the absolute middle of town.
We have two very beautiful private suites (actually they are studio apartments) that overlook a flower-filled garden. Both suites have incredible bathrooms made of Mexican tile.
Suite #1 has a King bed, or it can be changed to accommodate 2 twin
beds. This suite has a small fridge, a microwave and 2 burners for
light cooking. Electric coffee pot. Purified water in the pipes! Luxurious bathroom with blue and white Mexican tiles.
Wirelss internet. Mexican cable TV. DVD with large collection of DVDs. Spacious and filled with light. Two full walls of glass windows overlook a flower-filled garden. People describe the garden as "Giverny comes to Mexico."
In the vacation rentals site that you are now on, there is no option for "suite." Thus I choose "apartment." The two suites could be used as apartments but a better description is "suite."
Suite #2 has a Queen bed. Small kitchenette area with a microwave, bar-size fridge, two burners, electric coffee maker, purified water. Wireless internet. Small TV with Mexican cable and a DVD player with a large library of DVDs.
Suite #2 also overlooks the flower-filed garden. Lovely bathroom with spacious shower of green and white Mexican tiles.
High quality linens and down comforters.
Both Suite #1 and Suite #2 have a small sofa and a comfortable chair as well as a small dining table for light meals and sipping coffee. Excellent
reading lamps by bed. Both suites have their own outdoor patios for sipping morning coffee or a glass of wine at sunset. Comfortable lounge chairs for outdoor reading and relaxing.
Location! We are a 20 second walk to the main mercado where you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables and flowers. And at 8:30 in the morning, freshly baked bread.
A minute away is the beginning of the artisans market where Mexicans sell their jewelry, crafts, native clothes, etc.
We are within an 8 minute walk to 90% of the restaurants that one would frequent.
My husband and I visited San Miguel de Allende for ten days, went back to our home on the U.S. east coast, and couldn't get San Miguel out of our minds. We've now been here for 18 years. So we know the town well and can help you, should you desire, design your time here. We are serious about food...so we have a long, detailed list with our subjective opinions. And we can help you choose cooking classes, horseback excursions, night life activities, massages, spas, hotsprings, etc

Should you want any help, we are close and can aid you. BUT, we leave guests all the privacy they desire.
You have at your fingertips our 18 years of experience in San Miguel. We are always willing to share our secrets of San Miguel.
We recently spent a week in Suite #1 of this lovely rental and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The suite was clean and well–appointed with a very comfortable king size bed. The gardens and courtyard were beautiful and we enjoyed both reading and sipping wine in the courtyard. The owners, Caren and David, were welcoming and friendly and easily reachable for any questions. Caren has compiled a detailed folder of local restaurant descriptions/recommendations that we relied on when selecting restaurants and we were never disappointed. As noted, the location of this rental is perfect for exploring San Miguel, with the mercado and the central plaza just a short walk away. Overall, this rental, with its lovely courtyard, is a welcome oasis after exploring the city and we would highly recommend it.
I stayed in this lovely suite for nine nights. It was a wonderful place in which to wake up in the morning; hang out during the day; and return after a tiring day of sightseeing/shopping. It had all of the essential comforts, was spotlessly clean and the location was absolutely ideal. As a single female traveling alone, these accommodations were perfect – quiet and safe. Moreover, Caren was the ideal hostess. She offered spot-on advice/tips/recommendations, was patient with answering tons of questions and was quick to respond to requests. Caren’s warm personality and thoughtfulness made my stay all the better. I look forward to returning to San Miguel and staying in this charming place again … and again!
This beautiful home is located in the heart of Centro. The stunning courtyard is a delight to wake up to every morning. It's the perfect location to get a feel for the day-to-day life of the people of San Miguel de Allende. It's within walking distance to restaurants, The Jardin, shops. Or you can walk one block and sit on a park bench; read, write, people watching. Caren and David are wonderful hosts and they know 'everything' about San Miguel de Allende.
So - really, we stayed in June of 2014 but I have had on my "to-do list" to write this review for 18 months!! Normally I would have let this go but I just had to speak to the fantastic little gem this spot is! The accommodations were just what we hoped for our first visit to Mexico: beautifully authentic architecture, stunning grounds (flowers everywhere !) and absolutely charming, attentive hosts. Caren seemed to know everything about everything: the best places for a quick bite or luxurious dining, artisan shops in the market with anything from fresh flowers or food to hand made art or fine gifts of every type. She can even recommend a great place for a great morning hike and have a massage scheduled for your return! You will be delighted you took my advice and booked your stay in San Miguel de Allende with Caren & David!
The location was ideal, walking distance to restaurants, theater and market. Our suite was beautiful and bright and the gardens were truly magnificent. Most of all, our host and hostess, David and Caren were extremely warm, welcoming and helpful......they were the best!!!! Thank you for a wonderful time!

An absolutely delightful place to stay in San Miguel de Allende! The courtyard, upon which one looks out, is beautiful, and exudes a peaceful presence that belies its wonderful location in the center of town. The location makes it a very short walk to markets, stores, restaurants, museums, galleries, historical buildings, and the life of the wonderful town of San Miguel.
Caren and David are wonderful hosts, being available and attentive, but never intrusive. To them, we are grateful.
I would, without reservation, heartily recommend it to anyone who would like to get to know Mexico, and San Miguel.
