The weather couldn't stop this from being memorable.

  • 5 of 5

Despite the sour weather throughout the weekend our stay was as pleasant as the community's name suggests. We arrived to a clean, warm, and inviting home. We were welcomed with a gift and message welcoming us for the weekend. The home was spacious enough for four adults and a canine companion. Our plan was for a weekend filled with fellowship and old fashioned home cooking. We got just that! With the weather keeping is mostly indoors we found the kitchen and dining room more than accommodating to our needs as amateur chefs.

We were able to make it to the downtown area and found it to be lovely. It's filled with many quaint shops and is wonderfully walkable from the home.

Any slight question of small issue that came up was quickly answered and handled by the hosts, and I would recommend staying here if you have the chance and are looking for a place to hang your hat.

Lovely house in a very nice neighbourhood. Walking distance to restaurants and stores on Arnold Avenue and Bay. Only one mile to the beach. The kitchen is new as of 2016 with high-end appliances and cabinets.

Beautiful beach cottage!

  • 4 of 5

This was our 2nd time staying here and we love it! Great little house with wonderful backyard in a quiet neighborhood. Loved staying close but not too close to the July 4th chaos! The bikes and beach badges got put to good use! Great place and great town!

Loved this cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Clean 2 bedroom (upstairs) with 2 bathrooms (one up, one on main floor). Den for extra sleeping off the kitchen, although fold out mattress could use an update. There is everything you need to cook with in the kitchen, there is a screened in porch - great for morning coffee and the back yard is big with lots of chairs and a fire pit and BBQ. Even an outdoor shower and bikes avail. Bike ride to the beach, but not really walking distance.

I really loved it and could have stayed longer. The only thing that was a little tough was the early check out of 10 am and having to have all the towels washed and folded. Could deal with checkout time with maybe towels in the dryer drying on our way out. Otherwise, this is a very comfortable beach home and we would definitely stay again! Thanks Dar - and thanks for the complimentary bottle of wine and great communication!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback. Check out time for the Summer 2016 was extended to 11AM from 10AM after several suggestions. I do believe yours was extended to 11AM as well. My apologies if this was not communicated to you. I do understand the washing and folding of towels does take time and we have been evaluating ways to still be able to provide ALL linens for our guests stay and turn over the house in a few short hours, as this has been an area of concern. Leaving them in the dryer is a great suggestion! Most shore homes do not supply linens and have you leave the property broom clean and the home is not cleaned in between stays and fresh linens are not provided. We want our guests to be able to arrive in a well equipped clean environment and enjoy their stay. We are always looking at ways to improve our guests stay and appreciate your feedback. As far as the pull out sofa mattress needing an update, we were not aware prior, as we have not had any complaints and the sofa bed is 2 years young. We will evaluate and update as needed. Thanks again for staying with us! We look forward to your return to 'Point Beach Hideaway." All the best, Dar & John

Great House!

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean and had a nice touch of a bottle of wine for the guests!! The window A/C units in each room (along with overhead fans in some of the rooms) kept the temperature cool in the house when the outside was 85+ humid. Very clean floors and bathrooms. New plates, dinnerware, glasses and utensils. Nice fenced backyard for our 2 doggies! The beach is beautiful -- wide beach with a great boardwalk. Wish our visit was longer!
