Our first hike started right down the street and connected to Otter Creek Trail, then on to Ocean Path. We hiked Great Head, Jordan's Pond and Beech Mountain, we swam at
Echo Lake and spent time at Sand Beach. Tide-pooled at Bar Island, we actually did not make it all the way across the bar there was so much to discover! Ranger led programs are a must !!
We loved having this home to come back to everyday!
Can't beat the Parson House for a young family with a preference for a beautiful, laid back, cozy home base close to everything. This was our second visit, and we'll be back again next year. Just enough room for parents and 2 kids (ages 4 and 2), with happy dinners and after dinner activities in the eat-in kitchen/living room. Super easy access to the park, Bar Harbor (just 4 miles up the road), and starting next year, a trail that starts at the end of the block, heads out to Otter Cove, and from there connects directly to the Gorham Mountain trail, one of our favorites in the whole park. Amazing :) We got fresh lobster most nights cooked right at the Otter Creek Market at the end of the street. Finally, Peggy (who manages the property) is fantastic and super responsive. We arrived late on a Saturday planning to cook dinner, only to realize there was no olive oil, salt, or pepper. We called up Peggy and she was at the door in about 5min with supplies from her own home! Saved the evening for us for sure. In any case, we're very happy customers and will be back again and again.
We have been staying in the Otter Creek cottages off and on for about 3 years. All the cottages are newly renovated, clean and comfortable. Kitchen with rest of cottage is well equipped for our comfort. Area is quiet and beautiful. Love the washer and dryer for our two week stay. Managers are always there for us. The outside gas grill is always ready for use.
This is a great location, very close to Acadia National Park. The house is very well done and cozy the the manager was great to work with. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to visit Bar Habor and Acadia National Park.
