The only true waterfront rental house with water views from almost every room and a private newly refurbished dock! Very relaxing and natural decor-everything blends in with the beautiful water that is just steps from your back door. When you enter the king size master suite, you will be overwhelmed by the view. It has its own bath and a large glass-walled view with access to a private deck. Enjoy watching dolphins, boats, sunrises and sunsets on the calm waters of Taylor Creek. The newly remodeled second master suite has a queen bed with full bath and water view. The kitchen has an open floor plan with a breakfast bar and a large pine dining table that seats 10 and allows everyone a view of the wild ponies and sailboats. The second story deck with spiral stair affords gorgeous views all the way to the Atlantic ocean and Shackleford Banks-a perfect sunset watching spot for cocktails! You can walk or bike to town everyday or night for lunch and dinner in Beaufort's historic downtown where there is no shortage of restaurants and ice cream parlors. This is a kid-friendly town where streets are all flat and perfect for bicycling.
We fell in love with this town while dropping our oldest son off at Camp Seagull in 2001.
We have brought our 4 boys here since then and they have all grown up loving Beaufort as well. 5 of us got certified for scuba here at Discovery Dive and we tend to make every vacation a diving opportunity. We hope to retire here one day-if we can ever get our boys out of college! We know you will fall in love with Beaufort too!
Stan Breakell purchased this house in 2001
Carrot Island is right across the creek and you can watch the ponies and dolphins from almost any window Private.Dock in backyard that does not even require you to cross the street!. 1 level living. Large windows and open floor plan bring the views all the way into the house. Deep water dock for serious boaters and sailors.
You can see the water from the front door all the way through the house. When you walk up the spiral staircase to the second floor deck you know you are living large!
We stayed at this lovely home for the second time and just love all things about this property. The views are spectacular and our weather cooperated perfectly. The house is so comfortable and being right on Taylors Creek is ideal because we love to kayak. Horses on the shore and dolphins playing in the creek. What great surroundings. Thank you again Stan for sharing your home. Hope you get to use it soon too. Dee
My family has visited Beaufort annually for decades. Staying at this home was the best way I've found to experience true Beaufort living. We brought out boat and enjoyed the easy dockage right in front of the home. Quiet evenings by the water, enjoying the view of Taylor's Creek while we prepared supper. Not many places do we get up before sunrise on vacation, but it was a must to enjoy the spectacular views of the sunrise, horses, and schools of dolphin moving through the creek. The house is like coming home after a long day fishing or beaching it, not like a condo that you drop your stuff as you pass through. Definitely returning for this taste of paradise.
Great location! Easy bike ride to town. Waterfront pier is excellent-kept a paddle board, dinghy and kayak there all week. Bedrooms are at each corner of the house to allow for privacy.
Great location! We loved being on the water. Excellent view of wildlife and scenery. Spacious interior and well-stocked. Very relaxing vacation. Plenty to do in Beufort and short drive to many beaches. Next time we will bring kayaks!!
Great location, interior is very open, lots of room, comfortable for family of six, with a two year old and small dog. We brought our 21' center console boat, kept it in the water all week. Wild Life ramp close to house, good access to Cape Lookout, Shackelford banks, and inshore waters for fishing, and day trips via boat. Boat tie up as per owners instruction;( stern tied with two lines to floating dock, with fenders, and port bow line tied to post, and starboard bow line tied to far corner cleat of dock). Caught lots of crabs with crab trap tied to dock, and caught live minnows for bait with throw net from dock. Kitchen is well stocked, house cleaning could do a better job. We recommend Queen Anne Pizza, Finn's, and Sammy's. Enjoyed grilling with coal for first time in a while. Quite at night, with beautiful view.
The home is very spacious with plenty of open floor plan for entertaining inside or out.Equipped with its own pier & boat dock you could stay for much longer than a week and feel right at home. Two very spacious bedrooms and one good size for the young ones as well as three full baths.
My wife and two adult kids stayed for a week,Sunday to Sunday and had a wonderful stay. We had our coffee several mornings on the roof top deck while enjoying beautiful views of Taylor's Creek,Shacklefords Island and where we watched horses and pony's play & graze along with distant views of the ocean where fishing boats and commercial ships moved about. With only a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride to Beaufort along with waterfront boat access it definitely has its perks.
If you can bring or rent a boat/kayaks that's just icing on the cake.

Look out your back door at the wild ponies that roam on the
protected Rachael Carson Preserve across the water. Cape Lookout is a nice round trip in a
day to see the lighthouse. Collect shells on Bird Shoal or Carrot Island.
Ride bikes anywhere your heart desires (just 5min. to town on bikes). It is a nice 10 minute stroll to the downtown docks. Walk to town, have lunch or dinner and see the million-dollar yachts that stop in Beaufort on their way up and down the Intracoastal Waterway and the great Atlantic.
You can go ferrying, kayaking, sailing, walking, bicycling, cruising, shelling, and lounging. You can visit Fort Macon, too. And when no one is looking, you can check your email with free WIFI.
Boat slip with deep water access in front yard! Downtown Historic
Beaufort is a stroll away. There are beaches, state parks, kayaking,
excellent shopping, awesome restaurants, and a ferry to the outer islands. This is a quiet vacation spot for couples and families. Just across the draw bridge is a more-active Morehead City, with miniature golf, theaters, malls and all the touristy activity kids sometimes want. Fishing is excellent and many tournaments are held in Beaufort all year round. Walk or bicycle to the North Carolina Maritime Museum and see Blackbeard the Pirates' recovered artifacts.
There is also a wooden boat-building workshop. Bring your boat and tie
it up to our deep water access dock!
