Hi from Liz & Joe, the owners of Last Frontier Cabin. We're from Alaska and live on the Kenai Peninsula. Our family lives in Brookline just across the road from the cabin at Windmill Hill Alpaca Farm & Artisanry. And although the Alpacas no longer reside at the farm, you can still a find a variety of new alpaca knit products made from locally produced yarn. Also at the same location (new in 2014) is the Fire Belly Farm CSA, so please visit the seasonal farm stand for your fresh produce needs!
Thanks for an absolutely wonderful week at your place. The cabin is amazingly beautiful...we took several trips out to various towns yet spent many long hours in the cabin, happily greeted by that unique smell of the wood....you really have something special and we are happy to have stayed. Thank you so much for the flowers that greeted us! It was a honeymoon to remember and the stay made our marriage that much more special....Five stars for the Last Frontier Cabin!
This cabin was everything my family and I hoped for! Rustic, clean, beautiful, and peaceful are the best words to describe it. We loved the local hiking trails and the tiny towns in the area. It was within an hour to some of our favorite destinations: waterfalls, the Timber Ripper coaster at Okemo resort, the Vermont Country Store in Weston, Hogback mountain. The cabin itself offered all the comforts of home. It was love at first sight, really!
Our small family of 3 spent an amazing 4 days at the Last Frontier Cabin. It is so quiet there, with beautiful views and nothing to do but relax! The cabin itself was very clean, had a well stocked kitchen for cooking, and also had a great selection of DVDs to watch! My son loved the loft area, he spent time reading and relaxing up there. We will definitely be back!
Great place to relax and breathe fresh air. Well water was outstanding. Front porch, cup of coffee and sunrise with a flock of wild turkeys for company. Not a sound save for the pileated woodpecker.
The entire process of renting and staying at the cottage went very smoothly. Liz was wonderful about responding to questions quickly and was accommodating in every way. We were in the area for a wedding on Newfane Common and the cottage was only about 15 minutes away which was very convenient. The area surrounding the cottage is quiet and beautiful. Each morning we were visited by a flock of wild turkeys. Fun to watch!
Thanks Liz, for a wonderful visit.
If you want a getaway tucked within the 'Green Mountains' of Vermont, look no further. Just book the place. The cabin is on 40 acres of land but you won't even need to bother exploring more than one of them. Sitting out on the front porch is enough of an experience to last you a week.
My wife and I stayed a week and enjoyed every part of this place. First of all, there's nothing quite like Vermont. If you're from the city - like we are - be prepared for quite a different atmosphere. The rolling countryside and long country roads are a far cry from the stop-and-go nonsense of I-95, and the people up there are more proof that we all need to just relax a bit. People will actually want to speak with you.
The drive up and down route 30 is a breeze. Feel free to take a hike or drive up any old mountain for views that will be imprinted upon your memory until it ceases to function.
The cabin itself greets you with the wonderful smell of its wooden construction. Again, this is something we aren't used to so it was especially gratifying. The accommodations are just right: everything that any reasonable person would need to survive comfortably is provided. At the same time, they've avoided being tacky or overembellished in their decoration and furnishings. Contact with the owners was readily available but not expected of us. Complete privacy. No dogs greeted us upon arrival or any of that ridiculous stuff, and there were simply no surprises awaiting our arrival. The owners did surprise my wife and me with flowers, however (not to set a precedent: they were to congratulate our marriage!)
The cabin was clean, well-ordered, and intuitive. You won't be micromanaged by written instructions or excessive demands placed on your living style. Plenty of linens available. All the other details aren't really worth worrying about, and if they are, check the Property Description above. Overall, it was an amazing time at a reasonable price.
I had the best time ever in this cabin!!
Lots of movies, cozy wood stove, lightning speed internet, big bath tub... what more do you need?? The house is set in a field, beautiful in the moon light, quiet except for animals moving around... Comfy flannel sheets, clean, neat and uncluttered...
I cannot wait to go back!! Great owners as well. Truly worth a visit. Enjoy.
