A great time overall. A quiet, quaint and well-equipped efficiency cabin. Comfortable and warm, with everything needed to make the stay enjoyable.
The place for a perfect sister's week
We were hoping for a place where the two of us could spend time talking, exploring, reading, making salads out of the excellent local produce, and just rocking on the porch with all the benefits of a splendid landscape. We got what we hoped. The cabin, appropriately rustic, makes you feel remote and leisurely, when in fact you're only miles away from groceries, museums, restaurants, hiking trails, and lots of other small towns each with big personality. The Sapps were fabulous hosts, highly responsive, generous with tips and suggestions and goodies from their gardens. I hope to be back soon.
Quiet rustic getaway
Small cozy and quiet cabins with nice water views; close walk to dock; near high end grocery and quaint downtown; friendly hosts.
Had a great time.
The place is nice and cozy, And the view was nice. the beach is just down the rode,And the town is small and people are very nice. Great place to relax. Hope to go back next year.
Old-school Maine cabin getaway!
A great way to relax, turn off, and enjoy all that Down East Maine offers. A set of cabins that has been in the same family three generations that are well-maintained and with a beautiful view of an inlet. Plus a friendly yellow Lab! Couldn't ask for anything better, and the neighboring village of Castine has much to offer.
Quiet lake retreat
We loved the little cottages all lined up on the edge of the property! We were in cottage six and had a great view of the field where most mornings we were greeted with deer meandering through. The path to the "lake" (a tidal area) was close by and we enjoyed walking down and surveying the tides. Although the other cottages were also rented, the property was quiet and we enjoyed the downtime we had in the simple and cozy cottage.
Guests can bring canoes or kayaks as we have water access from the property. Castine has a nine hole golf course, several tennis courts, and a
yacht club, all open to the public. Lessons in each of these
activities available. If nature walking is your preference there are
the Witherle Woods boasting Indian trails for walking and hiking.
In addition to the Witherle Woods, Castine provides a walking map of
the town enabling one to see everything they wish.
There is a rocky-sand beach safe for swimming on our property as well
as swimming at the Wadsworth Cove public beach, also known as the Back
Enjoy fishing off the rocks at Dyce's Head Lighthouse. While you're
