There are plenty of homes on the Balboa Peninsula, but none quite like this one. Walk out the front gate of the Yellow House and less than 50 steps ahead of you is a beautiful soft sand beach. Turn right out of the gate and less than 50 steps away is Newport Pier and all of the AMAZING restaurants, bars, and shops you could dream of! The Yellow House has an AWESOME upstairs deck that overlooks the gorgeous Pacific Ocean from one end and the Newport Bay from the other. A front porch with cushy chairs and two extremely RARE parking spaces in the heart of one of the most beautiful destinations on Earth.

My name is Susan and I started my family in this home! When it became a little to tight for all of us, we moved to another part of Newport Beach. I grew up at the beach and have lived near the beach all of my life. I'm super happy to share this rare gem of a location with you!
We went to beach, Disneyland, hiking, aquarium and Queen Mary sightseeing and shopping. Everything was convenient to drive to.
Owner was always responsive and helpful.
House was in a relatively quiet neighborhood and always quiet by 10 pm.
House was very clean and all beds were comfortable.
What an excellent long weekend getaway. What a charming house, we hope to come back again to this property. The listing was exactly as described, clean, well-maintained and well-equipped, including the kitchen. The rental included a selection of boogie boards and other beach toys, so we didn't have to pack our own. Susan, the property owner, was very gracious, and we look forward to coming back.
This home has the most amazing location. Its so perfect for a enjoyable vacation. Everything in walking distance, the beach is steps away, & the top deck on this home was amazing. I will be back!
We loved our stay at the Balboa Yellow House. We wanted a single family home large enough to accommodate two families and Susan's house fit the bill perfectly. Not wanting to share a driveway or a wall with other vacationers, we opted not to stay in a middle level of a condo, but were seeking a single house.
Located just a block away from the sand and another block over to the Newport Pier, it is close enough to shops, restaurants, and multiple activities, but still secluded enough for some privacy. Actually, we did not partake in as many activities as first thought, but just enjoyed this big old house with a small yard and a nice covered front porch.
The front porch was my personal favorite with the smells and sounds of the beach and people watching. Next time, I will at least rent a beach cruiser. Weekly rates for a bike is $50. I hope to return every summer.
'Till next year...
The yellow house made for a great vacation. House had scooters and boogie boards for use. A bike rental place next door. A very short walk to beach, pier and shops and restaurants. We had a great time with no complaints.
our family loved this yellow house, it was close to everything., The owner was the best to work with, they had extras like great kitchen items, beach items and games, ect to make our stay much better. The top deck and front porch was great to watch the ocean and sunsets from. The best part was we could bring our family dog to enjoy our family occasion with us. We cant wait to go back to this yellow house in Newport Beach. Thank you for having a wonderful place for us to enjoy the beach.

While staying at the Balboa Court House, you will run out of time far before you run out of things to do. This is the epicenter of Orange County's most pristine beaches. The house is nestled on the Balboa Peninsula, with a gorgeous soft sand beach less that 50 steps from the front porch. Exit the house and turn to your right, and less than 50 steps away is the Newport Beach Pier & Pavilion. This bustling hot spot is home to several amazing restaurants and bars, including the world famous Crab Cooker. Stroll the local shops and pick up souvenirs, or wake up early and be the first in line at the Dory Fish Market at the foot of the pier. Afterwards grab fresh donuts with the locals at the Seaside Bakery or an amazing chili cheese omelet at Charlie's Chili Diner.
If you love the outdoors, there are several reserves and beautiful places to explore within a few miles, including the Newport Back Bay, Crystal Cove Park, and the Bolsa Chica Reserve (where the bird watching is unmatched). Rent a bike at the shop next door and ride farther down the peninsula on the bike path. It will lead you to the Balboa Fun Zone where you can take a short boat ride in the Marina, ride the Ferris Wheel, or ferry over to Balboa Island for even more shopping, dining and sight-seeing.
Just a few miles north by bike or car is Surf City USA, Huntington Beach. Grab a Corn Dog at Ruby's on the pier and watch world class surfers practice their craft or shop all the hip surf shops lining Main Street.
If you are ready to shop at two of the most high end Orange County Shopping destinations, South Coast Plaza and Newport Beach's Fashion Island are less that a 15 minute drive away. Shop until you drop and then pick up some wood on the way home and visit one of the local beaches with fire pits...there is nothing like S'mores on the beach next to a crackling fire with waves crashing on the beach behind you. The perfect ending to a perfect day!
If you are coming to enjoy the many local theme parks, Disneyland& Knott's Berry Farm are less than 45 minutes away. 90 minutes South you will find Sea World, Lego Land, The San Diego Zoo, & Wild Animal Park.
The Nearby Marina's offer all sorts of ocean side activities. You can catch a boat for a day trip to Catalina Island, go whale watching, paddle boating, sailing, or rent a Duffy and cruise around the bay sipping wine and sampling local cheeses. The possibilities are endless!
