Enjoy a relaxing getaway at this quiet cottage (The Sleepy Cat

This private bungalow features a cheerful bedroom with dormer window and french door leading to small balcony; bathroom with custom decorative tile;
fully-equipped kitchenette with dining area, sunny window seat and french
doors to patio with view of the Ventura Harbor.
Just 1.5 miles to the beach and historic downtown Ventura.
Note: There is a stairway with 30 steps from the street to the
house. No smoking is allowed on the premises. No pets.
We fell in love with the beautiful view of the ocean, the custom tile, the convenient location near historic downtown and beaches, and the quiet neighborhood.
We loved staying in the cottage and visiting our daughter. Being able to walk to their house and anywhere else in town was great. Staying in the cottage was so much nicer than being in a hotel--love the outdoor spaces that greeted us each night as we came "home." We will definitely be back!
A very bright & sunny hillside cottage tucked up behind the main house in a great location close to town & Pete's Breakfast House! Very very quite & peacful for a couples get away. A few more soft comfy updates needed & a soft place for two to sit would add to the experience! We enjoyed our stay!
Awesome cottage and perfect stay. Plenty of privacy, great location, very clean. Has a great Mediterranean vibe as pictured and is close to the beach. Thanks Christy and Tim!
A very quiet, peaceful bungalow set in a lovely neighborhood, close to everything in Ventura!
The high ceilings and large windows provide plenty of light. You can even watch the sunrise from your bed! We enjoyed the ocean views from the large patio that is out front, and the smaller patio that is close to the cottage doors. Nice touches and extras were: delicious coffee, a completely stocked kitchenette, beautiful decorative tile inside and out, cleanliness of the cottage, the hillside setting, and everything you'd really need!
We especially enjoyed the bungalow's location. There are many great beaches nearby! We were grateful that Tim gave us suggestions and specifics on some really nice spots. Also, we were close enough to explore beautiful Santa Barbara, to shop on Santa Claus Lane in Carpinteria, and to see the wintering monarch butterflies in a local park. We also took an easy, beautiful drive through some of the mountains to Solvang, "Little Denmark". It's a fun town and we caught the best farmer's market there! Finally, don't miss the Reagan Library in Simi Valley! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay...we even stayed an extra day! Christy and Tim were helpful with questions & suggestions, available but not intrusive. We would love to return!
What a lovely bungalow! This jewel of a cottage is perfectly decorated with the mexican tile in the kitchen, bathroom, and floor, and the king chair is soooo comfortable! The bougainvillea was abounding and provided privacy. In all, we kinda' felt like we were in the mediterranean with the ocean view in the distance! Close to downtown Main Street and San Buenaventura State Beach. We wished we could have stayed an extra day! Thank you Christy and Tim for sharing such a special place for our anniversary celebration!
It was our first time using VRBO and were overly and pleasantly surprised at how amazing this little cottage was! It was the perfect little weekend getaway spot to celebrate our ten year anniversary. Tim was amazingly helpful! We left for dinner and returned to the smell of fresh coffee beans in our cottage. It was super clean and organized. We were able to cook a couple of meals and enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen. We were able to come and go as we pleased. It was about 9 minutes away ( driving) from every destination. Loved every minute of it and plan to return again in the future! We highly recommend it!
This little bungalow in the hills overlooking Ventura Harbor is the perfect spot for some rest and relaxation. The property is immaculately maintained and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The neighborhood is extremely quiet since it's off the main drag, but close enough so you can walk in to town. Tim and Christy were great hosts and we hope to return again and again!
