a vacation home.
We invite you to spend a wonderful week in our elegant Log Home.
I have been renting my personal vacation property in Bar Harbor since 1999. I take pride in my properties and the fact that I have numerous repeat clients. I am responsive to any of our renters' needs and personally interact with my guests as well as utilize local management to assist with any issues. All of my homes are fully furnished and have the amenities desired by my family when vacationing!
Brenda Harp purchased this house in 1999
We had a wonderful time and loved the log house! The setting is perfect. The kids were out the door and down on the shore every chance they got. The proximity to Long Pond and the main entrance to Acadia made it really easy to go for a hike or kayaking, then stop at home for lunch, before heading to the next hike. The house was very clean and the kitchen well stocked--a big plus since we do a lot of cooking due to food allergies. We'll definitely be back. Our trips to Acadia, staying in the chalet and log house have been our children's favorite vacations!
I really loved the log house--with all the trees, it was like being out in the middle of nowhere.
Thank you for a delightful stay.
We were blown away by the beauty of the house and surrounding land. The location was great for us- very quiet, right on the water, and a short drive to Acadia/Bar Harbor downtown. Traveling with a one year old and a dog, we wanted a house that was more than just a place to sleep, some place where we would feel comfortable hanging out both during the day as well as at night after the baby went to sleep- this house exceeded our expectations.
Brenda was extremely helpful and accessible with any questions or concerns. We were prepared to bring a portable crib and high chair but we were happy to find that both of these could be provided for us which lightened the load in the car.
We definitely recommend this house.
This home provided the perfect stay for our family to have a wonderful Maine vacation. The home is clean and felt very spacious for my husband, me and our three teens. The owner was great to work with and gave us some good suggestions of restaurants and things to do on the island. The blueberry jam waiting for us on the table was a very nice and an appreciated touch. The views from the back of the home and deck are spectacular and so peaceful. We spent a lot of time just playing in the water, collecting mussels and kayaking (we rented kayaks from National Canoe and Kayak Rental in Mt Desert) right from the property. We loved the quick access to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park while still being able to get away from all the traffic and congestion. We enjoyed kayaking, biking, hiking, sunrises in the park. dining and shopping in Bar Harbor. We will be cherishing the great memories of this trip for years to come and looking forward to returning soon.
This rental property absolutely felt like home for us. We were 2 families traveling with 2 small children. This clean, furnished, and roomy cabin was the absolute perfect place to end our days of adventure. Roomy enough to sleep 6 people, you could put 2 more on the double futon in the living room. The children enjoyed the loft as their area. The adults entertained themselves in the spacious living room area and on the deck.
The house has a barbecue grill and a comfortable kitchen with many extra amenities. The view from the porch was fabulous and a great place to sit back and read a book or have a drink while watching the wildlife.
The cottage was very clean, towels and linens were provided along with a washer and dryer. I highly recommend this rental and it was easy communicating with Brenda.
We hope to come back for another trip to the Log Home and Acadia National Park!
Thanks so much for sharing your waterfront home with us. We really enjoyed eating lobster on the deck overlooking the beautiful sunset. You should try the Downeast Lobster Pound just off island. Brenda also suggested Jordan Pond House in the park which I second. While it was great to be just a few miles from Bar Harbor with its restaurants and shops we really enjoyed the peace and quiet surrounding the home. Since we were just a few minutes to Acadia we were encouraged to enjoy a sunrise from Cadillac Mountain. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need including spices. The complimentary blueberry jam and maple syrup were enjoyed. The house was well maintained and obviously decorated with care. We will definitely return to the Log Home.

vacation, with the rock-bound coast and soaring granite cliffs. From the stonewall-lined and tree-covered road leading you into our village,

Desert Island, surrounded by Acadia National Park, we have welcomed visitors for over a hundred years. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park have a wide variety of offerings for visitors. There truly is something for everyone.
