surrounded by large windows where you can view the forest and
wildlife. Travertine and slate floors throughout the home. It is

We had a wonderful and relaxing vacation. It was total peace and quiet. Walking to the river was heavenly. We sat on the dock and listened to all the river sounds! We hiked at St. Marks (which was great) but always looked forward to getting back to the cabin and heading to the dock to see what awaited us! The river was very dark and murky from all the rain in the area but still nature abounded. The house was perfect for us....very clean and comfortable! If you need a fast paced highly entertaining vacation then this may not be for you. But if you like nature at its best....then this is it! We hope to come back soon!
When you arrive you will pull up to a farm gate with a lock, pass through the gate and drive down a long, beautiful, natural drive, watch for deer scampering out of your path, listen to hundreds of birds sing your arrival, breathe in that wonderful woodsy smell, feel the stress begin to melt away. The house is about half-way between the gate and the water, set in the middle of a small clearing, inviting you in. Every need you could have has been anticipated, add your food and toiletries and you are ready to relax. Grab a cup of coffee, take a walk down to the very sturdy boardwalk and listen to the quiet, no cars, no unnatural noises, except maybe the quiet rattle of a boat slowly motoring downriver. Sit on the dock, watch the manatee, listen to an eagle call, maybe a deer or an otter swims downriver. You are in heaven. And the best part? Chances are your cell phone won't work, so you can truly unplug and relax.
The house is well appointed, good showers with plenty of hot water. Master bath is large with jetted tub. Beds are very comfortable. Tile floors throughout, house phone, tv with many channels. Plenty of pots, pans, utensils and dishes in the kitchen. Programmable coffee pot, toaster, coffee grinder, and a large refrigerator. Did you forget something? As isolated as you feel, there is a Super Walmart, Walgreens, and several other stores within a few minutes drive.
We will be staying here again.
The house is perfect for people who do not require constant commercial entertainment. Our family visit there included members from Europe and NY State, who have not spent much time together. The open floor plan allows for togetherness and promotes social interactions. The two children in our group enjoyed the wild life, the access to swimming and boating, and Wakulla State Park nearby. The secluded location was great for guitar sing-alongs on the deck and boat outings to the gulf and along the river. House and property were in excellent condition, well maintained and equipped. The walkway to the river provides safe and easy access to the river. We enjoyed watching animals in and around the river from the dock. We love preparing meals together and eating in. The kitchen and dining areas were great for that.
For our purposes, it was the perfect place to see northern Florida away from beaches, crowds, and bombardment from the commercial world. The owner had answered our may questions in advance and there are many restaurants and attractions within short driving distance for those looking for people contact.
