A Taste of Tuscany in Baja, Mexico Opened March 1st 2004!
BAJA MEXICO - People who are familiar with the spectacular Baja
Pacific Coast will be pleased to discover one of the newest
properties in Los Gaviotas is open for rental. Los Gaviotas, for
the uninitiated, is a 30 year old gated community of private
residences and rental properties nestled along the beautiful Mexican
Coastline just 45 minutes south of San Diego, California. Long
popular with California vacationers, as well as savvy surfers around
the US and the world, Los Gaviotas and the surrounding Rosarito area
offer a wide range of activities for the entire family.
This newer property, lovingly called Casa Toscana de Baja by the
owners, is awash in charm, comfort, and functionality. Facing
almost due west, this 2,400 square foot property offers a 180 degree
view of some of the most stunning sunsets anywhere in the world,
from the two spacious balconies along the front of the house.
The gorgeous white water views even make morning coffee an extra
The owners told this reporter that they decided to make the main
theme of this home reminiscent of the Tuscany Region of Italy
because of their affinity for all things wine-related, including
pairing interesting wine with interesting food. Upon reaching the
top floor of the home, the guests will be struck with an abundance
of appealing furniture and decorations. This floor holds the fully
equipped kitchen, a spacious living area with a large brick
fireplace, a 'Second Master' bedroom with a King-Size bed and a
private bathroom, another half bath just off the Living Room, and a
terrace with outdoor furniture and a gas grill. The living area
has a large screen TV, a DVD/VCR Player with Surround-Sound, and a
better than average DVD and VCR collection with selections for all
ages. A good variety of amusing and entertaining games are also on
hand. The owners also invite their guests to bring their favorite
CDs for playing on the stereo system.
When it's finally time to rest up for the next day's activities, the
visitor can go down stairs to the three other beautiful bedrooms.
Each bedroom at this level has its own private bathroom, and is
decorated in a unique and interesting theme. The Master Bedroom,
with its King-Size bed, is on this level and provides the guest with
a 'Taste of the Tropics'. The beautiful bathroom has a double
vanity and large shower, complete with a bathtub - unusual in
traditional Mexican architecture. Romance abounds in this
private 'retreat', which includes a fireplace and an inside
conversation area for those few chilly evenings, a large ocean view
terrace, and even a large television with DVD/VCR player for cozy
late night viewing.
The other two bedrooms on this level are also decorated in
distinctive style. The 'Nautical' room, with its Queen-Size bed,
is a whimsical tribute to the stunning Pacific Ocean just steps away
from the home's front door. The 'Safari' room gives the weary
traveler a taste of the wild jungle without leaving the safety and
beauty of the Baja Coast. This sanctuary has two Twin-Size beds
that are perfect for the kids in the group. There is a gaming
system on the TV in this room. There is a completely unique
feature in the 'Safari' room. If the group includes all adults,
the owners have thoughtfully provided a 'gadget' that will convert
the two twin beds into another King-Size bed so no one has to sleep
alone! Private baths in both rooms insure a 'no-waiting' policy in
this Paradise on the Pacific.
Although content to enjoy the amenities of this awesome property,
this reporter is well aware that most vacationers will want to know
about what is available in the area. He is happy to inform the
guests, that unless you are staying for several years, you may never
run out of things to do in the Rosarito, Los Gaviotas, Puerta Nueva
areas. And even if that does happen, there is always Tijuana - 25
minutes north, or Encinada - just 30 minutes south.
This beautiful home is kept in great condition. Every thing you need to make your stay pleasant. The view of the ocean is great. We are calling this place "our home away from home". Very roomy and refreshingly clean. You will not be disappointed. Secure with nice roomy two car garage.
Kathy was great at accomadating us . She was a great host and answered all our questions . We had an amazing time for spring break , the location was great about 10 minutes from downtown Rosarito . The house is even bigger and nicer in person ! Pictures just don't do it justice . Thank you Kathy! Hoping to come back soon
We recently vacationed at Casa Toscana and we had the best time ever, my family and friends had the most pleasant time ever, the kitchen has every appliance needed, dishes, cups, utensils any kitchen can use. you need bring nothing but toiletries and your beach towels.
We vacationed with 8 adults, enjoyed the fireplace so much it got quite chilly and kept us quite warm, the home is clean, linens are clean, nothing i could say but EXCELLENT ON THIS HOME. you will not be disappointed. we are booking again 2017.
he owners were so easy to work with, and easy to contact even from the home, if something went wrong.
We stayed at Casa Toscana over a long weekend in October with two families including a 3 year old and two 1 year olds. We couldn't have asked for a better setup. Everything in the house we could have needed was available, it was clean, quiet, and close proximity to the pool and beach. It was really nice having the garage as well, which fit two SUVs just fine. Kathy and Gary were wonderful hosts and provided everything we needed to enjoy the weekend stress-free, including detailed directions and info to get across the border and to the house safely (it took only 2 hours from Orange County). Highly recommended!
This home has plenty of space, gorgeous views and lots of little well thought details that made it a fantastic place to stay. We filled every bed in the house, yet we never felt crowded! The kitchen is great, and the layout with open area to the dining room made everyone feel included no matter what you were doing. The outdoor shower was perfect for the surfers in the group, and having use of the garage made it so easy to store stuff away for the night. We played tennis, shuffleboard, used the pool, the jacuzzi, and were on the beach every day. There is something for everyone here. The owner's were so wonderful and provided all sorts of great info so that our trip would run smoothly.
Side note - Ruben's Sabor de Baja restaurant in Peurto Nuevo was fantastic and we highly recommend to everyone!
We can't wait to go back to Casa Toscana De Baja!
