Comfortable and charming, this newer stilt home has everything you could
want for a vacation for just the two of you, a few friends, or the
Fantastic waterfront open canal views. Located on a
60'wide canal, you can bring your powerboat, jet ski, kayak, or what
have you, and dock it right in front in our canal. (We have 2 kayaks
at our unit available for guests free of charge). Note - There is only 17' of dockspace in front of our home so if your boat is larger thatn that you will have to use the on-site marina boat ramp to take the boat in and out of the water each time you use it. There is no cost for the use of the boat ramp, which is only a 2 minute walk from our home)
The house has two bedrooms (the master bedroom with a Sealy pillowtop queen bed, the second bedroom with a full-sized queen bed with a single bunk overtop), two full bathrooms, as well as a pull-out queen sleeper in the living room.
It is fully stocked with all linens and towels, has dishwasher,
microwave, fridge with icemaker, blender, coffee maker, toaster, new full-sized
stackable washer and drier, all utensils and dishes, and a gas bar-b-que.
Also has central air and heat, 40' widescreen tv with 130 channels. Wireless high speed internet is available inside the home and is included. Brand new comfortable living room furniture. Freshly painted throughout. New bedroom flooring.

We used to live in the Clearwater area of Florida, and would travel to the keys for our vacations to scuba dive, snorkel, go boating, go to the beach, etc. We decided that if we could ever pull it off, we would buy a place in the Keys and eventually retire there. We were lucky enough to be able to do this in 2007, so now we are still working, but go down a couple times a year ourselves, and eventually will spend 6 months per year in our beautiful waterfront home!

The Venture Out community has wonderful ammenities and everything is always perfect when we arrive, so we don't need to spend our vacation time doing yard work, pool maintenance, etc - its already done! We are located midway between Key West and Marathon, so if we want the nightlife of Key West or services of Marathon, we are less than 30 minutes from either one!
One of the nicest views in Venture Out, we are directly on the canal with openwater views and access. We can just prop the kayaks right into the water and paddle away - and so can you as our guests!
We really enjoyed our stay at your beautiful home in Venture Out! We loved that you are close to Key West for a night on the town, but far enough away in a safe gated community to be quiet at night when we want quiet! The pool and hot tub are both wonderful, and so close to the unit. Our favorite thing to do is to sit up on the deck for happy hour in the evening or for coffee in the morning, and look at the wonderful openwater view off the deck overlooking the ocean. We also loved the kayaks you provide for your guest to use at no charge. Thanks so much for letting us rent your home! We will be back next year!
Property location offers outstanding amenities in addition to a great location.
Just the right size for our family. right on the canal and able to enjoy the sunrise every morning from the deck. Enjoyed the whole venture out experience and would definitely stay here again on our next vacation
We had positive and negative highlights of our stay in Cudjoe Key. And please note we have stayed at over 20 properties, represented by about 5 different services, over the last 20 years.
All of our issues were reported to the management company and they were mostly rectified. The floors were very dirty when we arrived. As I cleaned the place it appeared that no one had cleaned under the furniture such as the bed, sofas and chairs. The closet we were able to access in the Master Bedroom was filled, and I do mean filled, with blankets, sheets, cushion covers for furniture which didn't exist, a broken end table, pillows, and other items. Luckily we weren't using the second bedroom so we just stacked all the stuff in there. The second bedroom closet did have some room in it but was not empty. Light bulbs were missing. Light bulbs were out - six or seven in total. The gas grill was only working on one side and there was a lot of grease in the bottom so we were concerned about a grease fire. The property managers did clean the gas grill and then the second half didn't work so it was replaced. In a response to a previous review, the owners said the place had been renovated. But laminate, or whatever it was, was pealing off some of the kitchen counters. And the television was totally unplugged in the master bedroom which we finally figured out and then we set it up.
On the positive side, it was a great view and the house was laid out well. The bathrooms were in good shape and the management company was very responsive.
I didn't revisit the web site for this property but I believe I remember a scarcity of reviews. And not all of them positive. Considering how popular this area is, I would have expected more - pro or con. I'll be much more sensitive to reviews in the future.
If Homeaway is reading this, this might be able to explain how this property is considered owner managed when the owners live in Canada and they have hired a management company in Florida to manage the property.
This house is ok, that's probably the most I can say. The view from the deck is beautiful, the best feature. For the cost, the decor is tired and in need of updating, although I realise that all accommodation in the Keys is overpriced and less smart than other areas of Florida. Part of the Keys charm maybe...?Beware of the realty agents - we were subject to some strange shenanigans when we were e mailed with less than 48 hours notice to be told our booking was being cancelled (yes really!!) due to faulty air condition - apparently irreparable in time for our stay. We were told they could offer one alternative accommodation that was not big enough for our family and lacked all the extras such as tv, wifi, waterfront location that we'd booked. Unfortunately the owner had a 'nothing I can do' attitude and just told me to sort it with the realty company. After several heated conversations and 11 attempts to phone the agent after they failed to call me back, I was notified that it had miraculously been repaired after all...Much as we are grateful to be reinstated to the property I am sure there was an agenda lurking there somewhere, just not sure what it was...As I said, beware.
I give this property 5 star's but needs new beds
We rented this home because it was close to key west. It was just perfect! The resort had a very nice pool, a place in the ocean to swim, tennis courts and a small store and was on a canal that lead to the ocean. It was very secure, clean and quite. I had occasion to talk to a neighbor and her friends and they were very helpful and friendly. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. I really can't say enough good things!

including billfish, dolphin (mahi-mahi), bonefish, tarpon, and much
more. Excellent restaurants and many tiki bars earby. Bahia Honda
State Park is narby, and boasts the nicest beaches in the Keys.
Dolphin Research Center, National Key Deer Refuge, and Great White
Heron National Wildlife Refuge are located nearby. Only 20 minutes
from the wild and crazy and totally unique town of Key West, where
there is a sunset party 365 days per year.
