About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, 12 Sleeps

This lovely seaside retreat is located in the exclusive community of

Crown Point. Crown Point is a small, enclosed, private community

that provides a safe place for children to bike and play, with no

roads to cross to the beach. This house backs to open area with a

beautiful ocean view. The spacious, uncrowded beaches of Corolla

are steps away.

The house had an unplanned update Spring 2015 that included all new bed linens, artwork, lamps, wood blinds, etc. We had a decorator friend who gave us some sage advice and we went with it!

Relax in the hot tub located on the deck, read a book on the

captain's watch or enjoy the ocean views from the deck. This house

is close to community amenities such as pool and tennis. Tim Buk

II, home to restaurants, shopping, grocery store, and mini golf is 1/2 mile away.

Movie theater, lighthouse, historic area and golf are within 3

The owners have taken great care to upgrade the property every year, updated interior design (2015), new outdoor seating area (2014), granite counter tops in kitchen and baths (2011), new living room furniture (2013).

Wireless high speed internet access and keyless entry with

passcode, no need to get keys!!

About Connie Johnson

We are a family of 5 who purchased this house so we could have a place at the beach. We came here before we had kids, and with all the babies; we have great memories of our times here. I am not sure what the kids would say, but finding a huge beached whale at Thanksgiving, finding a message in a bottle, fishing at turtle pond and Whalehead Club, learning to surf/wind surf/kayak/paddle board…we have been here in good weather and during Nor'Easters, it is always a lot of fun. The beauty and excitement of the ocean always thrills us.

The photo is of our son, Thomas, the summer he learned to windsurf, I think he was 14…he is 18 now and has moved on to ocean surfing. I tried this summer for the first time, managed to pull up the sail and move about 20 feet this summer but it is hard work!! But what a beautiful place to do it!

We have spent Thanksgiving on OBX with extended family...its always an adventure, we found a message in a bottle (included a 2 page handwritten note from someone named Monkey Underpants, a pack of skittles and $3), beached whale, and Santa at Timbuk II. Family time is the best and Corolla is the best place to create them.

Connie Johnson purchased this house in 2003

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have enjoyed every minute of our stay on the Outer Banks! Thank you so much, Johnson Family. Your beautiful home has been a welcoming retreat that has enriched our experience even more. What can we say...the view, the "nest", the short walk to the has all been so fantastic! We are most grateful and hope to visit again in the future. Some faces: Everything has been wonderful, the Wild Horses Excursion and the "Out of this World" sand dunes at Jockey's Ridge were especially amazing. What super memories! Loved it all. The drive from Marietta Georgia was well with the 10 hours. The house is wonderful with the big windows allowing in the beautiful sunlight. The sand was warm, the shells were plentiful and the water was refreshing. We hope to come back soon. THANK YOU!!

Great Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We loved our week at A Summer Night's Dream. We are from Ohio, my Parents live in Florida, so The Outer Banks was a perfect semi-midpoint for us to meet. We are so glad we chose Corolla! The neighborhood the house is located in is Crown Point. It is a really great location. You can walk to the community pool, you can walk to restaurants, grab breakfast at a local coffee shop, or get Lighthouse B agels (YUM) and you can take the super short walk over to the beach! The owners provide kids beach toys, boogie boards and some short beach chairs for you to use during your stay, and they have a hose to rinse off the sand upon your return from the beach. The spaces in the home are comfortable, and the "Captains Watch" is a great spot to greet a new day. We dealt with Tropical Storm Bonnie for part of the week, and had fun anyway playing games, watching some of the provided DVDs, and adventuring with our umbrellas in the Nature Preserve area near Carova. The homeowners make themselves available to you and are quick to answer any questions you may have.

It was really nice that my parents could have the master suite off the living room and My family of 5 could take over the downstairs area, and there were plenty of bathrooms. Kids could nap, while the rest of us were in the main living area. The kitchen is also well stocked with dishes.

Wonderful time in a great house!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 2.5 days and had a wonderful time. The house was kept beautifully. Plenty of space for larger groups of people. Within walking distance of some restaurants and shops. Also important to note there is a Dunkin Donuts in walking distance for those of you from the north. The weather was phenomenal. Walked on the beach approximate 400 yards from the front door. We can't wait to go back!

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your off season visit to our house. While you had a short visit, please come stay for a full week in the season or shoulder weeks when the weather is even more awesome. The measured distance to the beach access is actually 416 feet not yards, so you were closer than you thought!!

Very nice place, plenty of room, very clean. close to beach. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Not a whole lot of people on beach which makes it nice and almost private. Enjoyed the light house down the road. Overall a nice get away from reality.

Great place to relax

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time and found the house to be clean and well maintained. It is in a great location...walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants and of course, the beach. The only thing we wish we had was more basic cable channels so we could have watched the NCAA playoffs from the house. We would highly recommend this house.
