A first class modern detached two-storey self-catering holiday cottage situated on a working farm surrounded by fields of waving golden wheat is the perfect antidote to stress and city-life. Fitted out with all modern conveniences for your every comfort, you can relax and enjoy the tranquillity of what is one of the most idyllic spots you could imagine...yet it is only 5 minutes from Stirling City Centre and the main motorway hub connecting you to all the major cities and tourist locations in Scotland.
There are 4 bedrooms,2 doubles and 2 twins with one of the twins being on the ground floor benefiting guests with walking difficulties or require use of a wheelchair, there is a wet room with disabled facilities opposite this bedroom. One of the double bedrooms on the first floor has an en-suite shower room and there is a further bathroom with electric shower above.
The ground floor living areas are open-plan with a large lounge/dining area which flows from a well equipped open kitchen. There is plenty of natural light from the patio doors and windows to really appreciate the views. Lastly there is a second tv/playroom. The Coach House is very well equipped with a wood burning stove in the sitting room to modern appliances in the kitchen and a washing machine and tumble drier in the utility room.
There is a garden and patio area and a large area for parking. The river Forth runs around the farm and is about 400m from the holiday house.
I have lived on this farm my whole life, except going away to school/college/travelling etc and am now the 4th generation farming The Cowden Farm. I live here with my wife Linzi and two boys Frazer and Euan
Gavin/Linzi Bryce purchased this farmhouse in 2007
When you live in such a beautiful area I thought the best way to share it was to build a new house with all mod cons as traditionally as possible.
The location, only 3 miles from Stirling.
Building a house from scratch allowed me the flexibility to plan and build a house for everyone, from an extended family to a working party. There are no steps at all from the car park all the way through the ground floor of the house making it ideal for wheelchair users.
A group of 9 of us stayed at the Farmhouse between Christmas and New Year. The house is lovely, very well maintained and well furnished, the log fire was great, and Linzi had provided us with all the essentials upon our arrival, and even some Prosecco and Pannetone. The views from the Farmhouse are stunning and it is ideally located, with Glasgow and Edinburgh only 40 minutes away, and the Trossachs only 30 minutes away. The house is very spacious and clean and the beds very comfy. Linzi looked after us very well during our stay and was very helpful in accommodating our needs. Highly recommended.
We loved our time at The Coach House! The views are spectacular and it is so centrally located to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling in general. Gavin and Linzi took time to answer our many questions and were quick to offer great suggestions for dining. We would definitely rent this property again as well as recommend it to friends and family. Love watching the cows out the windows.
This house worked well for our group of 8 (family and friends). Using as a base, we were able to take day trips to different areas of Scotland using our rental cars. We did take the train from Stirling to Edinburgh which I would highly recommend to avoid hassle of parking. The house is spacious, had nice furnishings and was clean. It was nice to come back and relax at the end of the day, very peaceful on the farm. Loved sitting in the bedroom in the morning getting ready for the day looking over the farm fields watching the cows. owners are right next door if you need them otherwise they keep to themselves. We would highly recommend this rental. If we found ourselves back in Scotland we would rent this house again.

My husband and I stayed with our four adult children and a friend and could not have asked for a better location. The cottage was perfect, with everything you needed for a homey stay. There was lots of room for everyone. It was ideally located for our travels about the countryside and a comfy place to come back to at the end of the day. Stirling was a favourite destination for us, so we loved being so close. I would highly recommend this location to anyone. Gavin and Linzi are wonderful hosts.Thank you Gavin and Linzi from New Brunswick, Canada!
We had a wonderful experience with this cottage stay. We were made to feel at home by the owners, Gavin and Linzi, and we couldn't have been more satisfied with the location near Stirling and the facility itself. Thank you Gavin and Linzi!!!!
Walter and Jennifer Allison & Family
Three generations of our family ( 2.5y to 71y) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Coach House. The latter was spacious, clean and well furnished and Gavin and Linzi, the owners were extremely helpful. They allowed us an early check -in (a relief when there are two toddlers who have had a sleepless transatlantic flight) and thoughtfully provided us with milk and shortbread so we could have a cup of tea/coffee before heading out to fetch groceries. The weather during our week was generally cloudy with showers but we still had good time visiting interesting sites in the surrounding area such as The Kelpies, The Falkirk Wheel, Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. A highlight for all the family was observing the cattle in the field adjacent to the Coach House and there was extra excitement at the breakfast table when a newborn calf was spotted. Three calfs were born during our stay and all were named!
We highly recommend The Coach House as a place to stay.
