Perfect for us.

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean, comfortable and well cared for. It's right on the water and very peaceful. The owners, Mike and Grace, were gracious and very helpful with every detail about the house and everything we needed to know about the area. There was a canoe and kayaks at our disposal; and my husband fished a lot using the boats and from the dock. The house is in close proximity to Saratoga and Lake George. We had a wonderful time and would definitely consider going back.

Love the River House!

  • 5 of 5

The fact that we have returned for several years should tell how satisfied we are! The location and privacy of the house is all we could ask for. The amenities are first class and the recent additions only added to our enjoyment. My wife and I have been going to the area for over 30 years and the river house is our favorite place to stay. Sitting outside by the river or going to nearby restaurants in Corinth,Lake Luzerne or Lake George or shopping in any of the other nearby areas make it a great destination. The owners feel like friends even though we have never met. Hope to return again in the coming years.

Beautiful slice of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

This was our third consecutive year of staying at the River House. This year we stayed for 2 weeks rather than just one week. The owners Mike and Grace are so easy to work with on all fronts. They spent upgrade money this year on the home with new living room furniture, New flooring, upgrades to the back room including a new 32 inch flat screen smart TV, This goes with a new 43 inch flat screen in the living room, The home is directly on the Hudson River and the property has a floating dock and comes with 2 Kayaks and a canoe. There is a beautiful newly updated fire pit plus 2 picnic tables. If you have a boat there is a public boat launch just down the street. You are 30 minutes north away from Lake George. You are 30 minutes south to Saratoga Springs and GREAT horse racing.

You will not be board and with so much to do in either Lake George or Saratoga you will find your weeks vacation just flies.

If you have never been to the Adirondacks an visited Lake George or Saratoga you a missing a great scenic part of America.

The River house is perfect spot to enjoy the Hudson River and surrounding areas.

We will be back next year for our 4th consecutive year if our health remains stable. Can't wait till next August

WE love this little house. CLEAN, Well stocked!!!

  • 5 of 5

Been going for about 10 years. Very clean, everything you need to cook if you want to bring food. A/C always a plus to have. New fire pit, sofas and chairs were a definite plus. Quiet environment. Would and have recommended to many friends and family. Right on the water. Good wi-fi, cable TV.

Fun Times

  • 5 of 5

This was our first stay in The Gershowitz Summer House and we will definitely return. The place was very clean, welcoming and efficient. It looked a lot better than the photos. Mike provided detailed check-in instructions and as a result, made the stay go very smoothly. The BBQ grill was available for quick meals and our kids (ages 8 and 10) really enjoyed the fire pit for making smores and toasting marshmallows. We were provided with ample firewood. Initially we did our grocery shopping at Walmart before arriving but the Tops Market recommended by Mike was great for picking up additional items. We made use of the kayaks and rowboat that was available. There were motor boats and wave runners that would pass by ever so often. It kind of made me nervous in the beginning thinking we might get hit. However, people can spot us easily in advance since the color of the kayaks and life jackets stand out. Also we were able to hear them coming even before we can see them. They made a big effort to avoid us.

The cottage was relatively close to places we wanted to visit. We brought our own bikes and biked the Warren County Bikeway (10 miles) which ended in Lake George and we spent some time there. We took a break with BBQ's and dined at The Saltwater Cowboy for some great seafood and biked back. There is a great ice cream stop on the trail. We hiked the Hadley Mtn. Trail which was recommended and the kids liked the Tower climb on the top. The Great Escape was also one of our destinations. We also dined at The Upriver Cafe in Lake Luzerne...friendly service, delicious battered french fries and great beer on tap. On a rainy day we visited the Howe Caverns which was a bit of a drive but educational. The comfy recliners plus the complimentary Netflix and DVDs was a plus on rainy days. Both the heat and A/C warmed and cooled the cottage very quickly. The hot water was very sufficient and came on quick. Wi-Fi signal was excellent and was able to do some work. The full size beds were comfortable and was perfect for the four of us. We stayed for a week, had plenty to do and can't wait to return next time.

Home away from Home!!

  • 5 of 5

This was second year in a row renting the River House. Mike and Grace are so accommodating and make sure your vacation meets all expectations. Whether its sitting down by the dock and feeding the fish, or sitting up on flagstone wall and reading a book or watch the squirrels gather their nuts for the winter tranquility abounds. The River flows so peaceful that stress just flows from your body. We moved from New Jersey to Virginia between yearly visits and increased our travel time from 4.5 hrs to 10 hours but it is worth it. We will be back in 2017. Thank you Mike and Grace
