Spey cottage at Drumdelgie has been fully renovated and furnished, no expense has been spared with special attention to luxury beds with Egyptian cotton linen. You will find a welcome pack on arrival filled with tea, coffee etc. We are in a peaceful setting, up in the hills surround by 700 acres of woodland over looking Huntly which is only a 5 minute car journey away. Aberdeen is only 50 minutes and Elgin 45. Anyone and everyone is welcome from all walks of life, the more the merrier. Drumdelgie is situated above the river Deveron with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. Drumdelgie is just 3 miles from the traditional market town of Huntly right in the heart of the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside. We are also only 4 miles from Aswanley wedding and events centre.
Drumdelgie was formerly the biggest farm in Aberdeenshire and one of the largest in Scotland and working life on the farm in the 19th century is described in a very well-known bothy ballad known as Drumdelgie, but called "The Hash O'Drumdelgie".
Each cottage is fully equipped and no expense has been spared with special attention to luxury beds with Egyptian bed linen. You will find a huge Super king bed and king bed with top of the range coil sprung memory foam mattress, topped off with an extra thick layer of cosy mattress topper and then finally finished off with Egyptian cotton linen. You also have your own dedicated WiFi, 42" flat screen TV with full Sky TV (Sports and Movies), music system, washing machine, dishwasher and much more. There is walnut flooring throughout and electric power showers to soak under.
We also have gun storage facilities and a drying room - so after a full day out in the field or in the water or on the slopes...you have somewhere to dry those wet clothes and boots! We also have a huge amount of free parking. And this year we will be adding more play and picnic areas. We do though have a stable filled with toys, soft play and BBQ's for you to use.
Just 5 minutes by car in the town of Huntly you will find 6 takeaways, ranging from fish and chips to Indian. There are two restaurants for evening dinning and so many cafe's that I can not count them. Deans biscuits serve an amazing breakfast and lunch and also open for tours. There are two supermarkets. Vets, Doctors and A&E. For home cooking it's must to go to the local award winning butchers and you will find lots of bakers.
One of my favourite places if you have children, is to drive down to the old Huntly castle. The setting is beautiful with the river Deveron flowing by, lots of play parks for the children and in warmer weather bbq and picnic areas by the river. The falconry Centre is right next door to us and is open from April to October.
We are surrounded by whiskey distillery's so let us know if you need advise.
