Guestbook comments from the owner

We have just spent a week here and have had great nights' sleep ! very quiet at night. We came down by train so had no transport while we were here. We invested in a "Via Liberté" card for the train (25 euros) which enabled four of us to travel to Montpellier, Nîmes and Béziers half price. Some really sunny days - and a couple of very cold and windy ones, so it was great to have such a fantastic selection of DVDs !!! The house has a great position for the town centre shops and even the Hyper U is not too far. Absolutely fantastic municipal pool (take the bus to "l'Archipel"). The kids really loved it there. It was really interesting to read the book about the restauration of the house. What an incredible amount of work ! It was worth it however, as the house is really great. We have enjoyed our week a lot.

Gorgeous restored house

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week in September and our stay couldn't have been better. Helene, the owner is incredibly helpful and very friendly. She has done a fantastic job restoring this house. it's right in the heart of old Agde and is full of character. Make sure you rent bicycles to tour the area - much more fun than driving everywhere. we went to 5 different restaurants and they were all excellent food and great value for money. We have to give a special mention to Vogue restaurant as you wouldn't just bump into it - its at the beginning of the Marseillan road, a bistro type with very good food. Don't miss the local market - great fun! If you like horses go to Ranch Luke - well fed horses, great guide and you can gallop on the beach. If you go to the wine co-operative at Florensac make sure you book a table to eat - we turned up and they were full, but worth a visit for the wine alone. Thanks again to Helene - a really wonderful house and a fantastic holiday. Helen and Paul.

September in Agde

  • 5 of 5

Coming to he end of a lovely, if very hot September 2 week stay at this perfectly situated house.

Everything about the property was exactly as stated, spotlessly clean with all needs catered for in an excellent local.

Helene was the perfect owner, welcoming us, then leaving us to settle, safe in the knowledge she was available should we require any help.

We had no problems parking, most nights in the Rue de la Republique, and failing that, P6 (free of charge).

We tried most of the restaurants, and found the Mare Nostrum to be our favourite in Agde and the Bonne Mere in Cap D'Agde well worth a visit.

Having visited the area before, we made return trips to Aiges Mortes and Sete, both worth a visit, although Sete is very busy and not for a hot day.

We used the beaches at Tamarissiere and Richelieu the most, and Espiguette when we travelled to Aiges Mortes.

Would definately recommend Helene's beautiful house which is full of character.

There are a few stairs to climb, but they tend to make you feel less guilty about the excessive holiday eating.....

Perfect holiday house

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned to England after a wonderful week in Agde. The house is fantastic and looks exactly like the pictures on the website. We particularly enjoyed having a glass of wine, with cheese from the Sunday market, on the roof terrace.

The house is very well maintained and equipped with everything we could have needed. The landlady, Hélène, was really welcoming and was prompt and helpful in all correspondence prior to our visit.

We travelled by train and found plenty to explore in Adge and Grau D'Agde without a car. We recommend the local bakery, Mare Nostrum (on the canal) and the creperie on Rue De L'Amour.

We are delighted to recommend this property to others.

Lots of character,great location.

  • 5 of 5

A house with lots of charm and character and also lots of stairs. Perfectly located for days on the beach and there was plenty to chose from.Or why not just rest and read a good book up on the the terrace or one of the many bars and benches in the town.A friendly town with a great bakers just around the corner.

Weather was so good we didn't do too much sightseeing but did visit lots of beachers. We did venture in land to Lodeve then onto Le Cayla and La Couvertoirade. On the way back we came through Cirque De Navacelles that was amazing.

We have left lots of places to see for are next visit.

A great place to eatis Restaurant Mare Nostrum try the Bouillabaisse.
