Our home was built in 1879 and was completely restored in 2005. Great attention was given to preserve the home's original character and is evident in the transom over the master bedroom entrance, claw foot tub on the second floor and pocket doors leading into the family room.
The home sits on 130 acres of farmland, meadows and woodlands. Wildlife is abundant with eagles, deer, herons and mink a constant sight. Ohio's legendary Cold Creek, which originates at the "Blue Hole," meanders through the property. A walk along the stream will showcase trout rising to floating insects.
The master bedroom is located on the first floor and has a queen bed and its own private bath with power jet sprays in the shower. Also on the first floor is the kitchen, breakfast dining area, living room, laundry and guest bathroom.
Two other bedrooms are located on the second floor. One of the rooms has two twin beds and the other has a queen. Also upstairs is a large family room with breathtaking views overlooking the property. A sleeper couch provides an extra bed if needed.
While the setting is truly rustic, we are only minutes from all the attractions that has made our area Ohio's vacationland. Cedar Point, multiple water amusement parks, local wineries, ferry service to the Lake Erie Islands and downtown Sandusky are less than 15 minutes from our door.
Maximum allowable occupancy is eight. Pre approvable of groups larger than eight must be obtained from the owner. A second home is also located on our property for groups that need more lodging. Check out VRBO#698472.
