It is hard to decide which time of year we enjoy the most at our Lake Sunapee home! In the summer we relax on the front porch watching all the activity taking place on the lake; swimming, sunning on the dock, taking out the canoe, sunfish, kayak, or two person paddle boat, tubing or water skiing. With the Mt. Sunapee State Park just over a mile away, you can be hiking, snowshoeing, or skiing/snowboarding in minutes! Once the lake is deemed solidly frozen it becomes a hub of activity with ice fishing, snowmobiling, skating and ice sailing.

About Maureen and Dwight Peterson
I grew up on this property as my parents bought it in 1969, when I was just 10 years old. The house was built in the late 1800's and came fully furnished with many of the antiques still here. My parents tore down the old cottage about twenty years ago and built the year round vacation home that my husband and I purchased in 2006. It is still considered a vacation home for our four daughters, their friends, my siblings and their families, as well as my mom and dad..
Maureen and Dwight Peterson purchased this House in 2006

Great Property, Great Location
I rented this house in September to house the wedding party for my wedding. We got married at Mount Sunapee and could not have been at a more convenient location. The house is absolutely beautiful, spacious, and there is plenty to do. We enjoyed the excellent views from the main level of the house, and took advantage of the dock on the water. The owners were very responsive and accommodating. It would be hard to have had a better experience.
Another fantastic stay!
The house, location and all it provides is perfect place for our family vacation. This spacious house is in a beautiful peaceful spot. Newbury is not a big touristy town which is exactly what we were looking for. The house is well stocked with all the necessities. We took full advantage of this great lake by using the kayak, canoe and paddle boat provided. We rented a boat to tube, water ski, knee board and just cruise the lake. We loved taking in the view from both the porch and dock. The porch was our favorite place to enjoy our morning coffee or tea and the dock for our evening glass of wine or beer. Whether on the lake, in the lake, making s'mores, fishing from the dock or playing many games, it was the perfect family vacation! Maureen and Dwight are very nice, accommodating and will do whatever it takes to ensure you have a great stay and fully enjoy your visit. Love this place!
A Beautiful Lake Home!
My daughter was graduating from College. We had a wonderful family gathering! It was perfect for the occasion. The home was clean and well stocked. If we ever came back to the area we would for sure rent it again.
Absolutely perfect ski getaway!
I stayed the weekend at the house with a group for skiing at Mnt Sunapee. The house is a three minute drive from the mountain - it could not be more convenient! The house itself is great - multiple bedrooms, two spacious living rooms, and the most cozy fireplaces. Maureen was great communicating with me the entire time, and no problems arose at all! I would definitely rent again, and would love to come back in the summer and take advantage of the lakefront!
Beautiful house on the lake
We had a wonderful time at Lake Sunapee. The weather was so cold, well below zero everyday. Only wish the weather was better but my family did ski and ice skate. Fishermen on the lake set up 2 fishing huts within view from the house . We all enjoyed watching them set it up and they actually caught a fish . There were wind ice skaters and other people skating on the lake so we enjoyed watching them with a glass of wine and a roaring fire in the fireplace. The house was very comfortable and Maureen was very helpful. Minutes to Mt. Sunapee and fine dining.
I have a binder with recommendations for restaurants, rainy day activities,
local fitness center, massage therapists, movie theater, and local summer theater, etc.
