It is hard to decide which time of year we enjoy the most at our Lake Sunapee home! In the summer we relax on the front porch watching all the activity taking place on the lake; swimming, sunning on the dock, taking out the canoe, sunfish, kayak, or two person paddle boat, tubing or water skiing. With the Mt. Sunapee State Park just over a mile away, you can be hiking, snowshoeing, or skiing/snowboarding in minutes! Once the lake is deemed solidly frozen it becomes a hub of activity with ice fishing, snowmobiling, skating and ice sailing.

About Maureen and Dwight Peterson
I grew up on this property as my parents bought it in 1969, when I was just 10 years old. The house was built in the late 1800's and came fully furnished with many of the antiques still here. My parents tore down the old cottage about twenty years ago and built the year round vacation home that my husband and I purchased in 2006. It is still considered a vacation home for our four daughters, their friends, my siblings and their families, as well as my mom and dad..
Maureen and Dwight Peterson purchased this House in 2006

Absolutely perfect ski getaway!
I stayed the weekend at the house with a group for skiing at Mnt Sunapee. The house is a three minute drive from the mountain - it could not be more convenient! The house itself is great - multiple bedrooms, two spacious living rooms, and the most cozy fireplaces. Maureen was great communicating with me the entire time, and no problems arose at all! I would definitely rent again, and would love to come back in the summer and take advantage of the lakefront!
Beautiful house on the lake
We had a wonderful time at Lake Sunapee. The weather was so cold, well below zero everyday. Only wish the weather was better but my family did ski and ice skate. Fishermen on the lake set up 2 fishing huts within view from the house . We all enjoyed watching them set it up and they actually caught a fish . There were wind ice skaters and other people skating on the lake so we enjoyed watching them with a glass of wine and a roaring fire in the fireplace. The house was very comfortable and Maureen was very helpful. Minutes to Mt. Sunapee and fine dining.
Beautiful, comfortable stay!
We had a wonderful time at this welcoming, family-friendly home. Everything was clean and as-described. The hosts were kind, helpful and generous when we contacted them with questions. Highly recommend this rental!
Staying here was as if we were staying at a friend's house for the week. The house itself was spacious and comfortable. We loved lake life for the week! We loved swimming, jumping off the dock and using both the paddle boat and kayak. The kids also enjoyed fishing off the dock. We loved that it was not a big "touristy" town. Very peaceful vacation!
My family and I had a lovely ski weekend at this rental. It was lovely, well stocked, close to skiing and had a beautiful view of the lake. It made us all want to visit again when it was warm to take advantage of the proximity to the water. I highly recommend this to families and anyone looking for a quiet break. The proximity to Mt. Sunapee couldn't be beat. And Maureen was a wonderful help when I had questions, I would recommend staying here to anyone. Thank you for letting us borrow your home!
Perfect for our Family; Gracious Owner
This property is pristine, lovely, welcoming, and easily accommodates a big crowd. A screened-in porch overlooking the lake is delightful. Well-stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds.
Maureen was entirely gracious, kind, and accommodating.
We stayed for a weekend reunion of my big family of brothers and sisters. The next time we meet in NH, we will definitely stay here!
I have a binder with recommendations for restaurants, rainy day activities, local fitness center, massage therapists, movie theater, and local summer theater, etc.
