Realy wonderful, Magnifique maison
Villa vraiment magnifique dans un cadre exceptionnel, calme et reposant. Chambres grandes et joliment décorées . Propriétaire très sympathique.
Merci pour tout ... C'était un plaisir que vous soyez dans notre villa.
Wonderful Property; Great View of Casarabonela
Stayed with friends for two weeks. Property is in excellent condition; owner helpful, easy to deal with and responsive to our every need prior to and during our stay. Great views of the small town; excellent location outside the hustle and bustle of larger urban centers; yet, close enough to enjoy Malaga. Great propert and excellent value!
Stunning former hotel perched on an Andalusian hilltop. Mindblowing views on all sides. The decor tasteful, the rooms all gorgeous (en suite and with views), an incredible kitchen and veranda to eat breakfast looking at the jaw dropping landscape. Lovely pool area, and table tennis a nice addition. Frank was super communicative and very kind. We went with the whole extended family for a week and couldn't have asked for anything more. Paradise!
Wonderful villa for family and friends!
The villa is wonderful! We had a group of 18 people - 10 adults, 6 children and 2 babies - with plenty of room to move about and not get on top of one another. The en-suite bathrooms also made a huge difference with so many people in the group. The large dining room provided ample space for the kids to eat dinner whilst the adults enjoyed eating late-night dinners on the terrace with a fantastic view overlooking Casarabonela and the valley below. The professional kitchen also made cooking a real enjoyment. An issue with the dishwasher when we first arrived (it had broken down) was fixed as quickly as possible by the very helpful and hospitable owners and our full deposit was returned despite a couple of minor breakages (which, whilst unavoidable and due to wear-and-tear, may well have been charged by other owners). Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for somewhere that is family-friendly, somewhere to unwind and somewhere with beautiful views.
Excellent house but access difficult
The house itself cannot be faulted - clean, spacious and well equipped. It is a former hotel now rented out as a villa (La Era). The views across the mountains and Casarabonela are amazing. However, the road leading up to the property is part dirt track, and in sections so steep that our hire cars struggled. It means that it is neither possible to walk into the village (in theory the distance can be covered on foot but I wouldn't have wanted to meet a car as a pedestrian), nor would we have liked to have driven up to the property in the dark. The house is in a beautiful area, but there are no attractions nearby - everything is at least an hours' drive on small windy roads. The pool is nice, but a little small for the number of occupants the house can take.
Very pleased our guests found the villa well appointed and visitor ready. The amazing views and independence at Nuevespigas can only be found in the still undisturbed Andalusian countryside. Countryside protected down to its mountain roads, meaning they must remain as they were since time immemorial being Casarabonela part of a European natural biosphere reserve. Nuevespigas is the perfect destination for relaxing, enjoying each other's company and occasionally visiting other villages or cities found in the adjacent countryside. Distance and time for travel there and back are normal considering the villa's location. The villa's pool area offers more than just the pool with plenty of space to play and relax.
Our family [6 adults and 6 children] have just returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday [Aug 2016] staying at this superb villa. It is situated in the mountains near the picturesque village of Casarabonela. The views from all the bedrooms are spectacular and the interior of the villa is most tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. Each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom and some have balconies over looking the beautiful countryside. The kitchen is equipped to the highest standard as the villa used to be used as a hotel. I would strongly recommend this venue to anyone wanting to have a peaceful holiday in Southern Spain with Malaga and Marbella only about 45 minutes drive away. Martin McNeill
Nuevespigas is located in Casarabonela, one of the “White Villages” of Andalucia, just 42km from Málaga, capital of the Costa del Sol and home to the new Picasso museum. The area surrounding Casarabonela is known as ' Sierra de las Nieves' named Biosphere Reserve by Unesco. Nuevespigas is close to Marbella, Ronda, Malaga where you may visit La Alcazaba- Arabic castle-. the Cathedral, the Roman ruins. Pompidou, Thyssen and Rusian Museums, enjoy the Sea Port as well as to have the tipical "pescaditos fritos" freid fish. Also Nuevespigas is close to the so call El Caminito del Rey. El Caminito del Rey is a step built on the walls of the Gaitanes gorge, between the municipalities of Ardales, Álora and Antequera, in the province of Málaga, autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. It is a pedestrian walkway of more than 3 kilometers, attached to the rock inside a canyon, with sections of a width of only 1 meter, hanging up to 105 meters above the river, on almost vertical walls. You may also go to Antequera and visit the well-losknown " Los Dolmenes", Prehistoric archaeological site, who was declare World Heritage recently. Nuevespigas is easily reached from Malaga via the A-357 direction Cartama. After about twenty minutes on this road you will find a sign on your right indicating Casarabonela, Alozaina on the A-354. Turn left onto this road and after 10 to 15 minutes turn right towards Casarabonela,A-7275, before actually going into the village and after the Peugeot Garage you will find on your right the first of six signs towards Nuevespigas. They will lead you to a dirt road and to 2 "steep climbs" which can be easily salvage by turning of the air conditioning, putting the car in "first gear" and stepping on the gas.Whether you are coming from the Malaga Airport or Marbella via the N-340 the prior roads are the same to reach La Era. From Sevilla or Granada the approach should be from the A-92 onto the A-384 to Campillos then the A-357 direction Malaga up to A-354
