About Julie Osborne

I purchased Hyde Beeches in 2003 and lived there for 6 years with my 2 sons. They had an amazing time growing up there with the huge garden where they played football and made dens and tree houses. I used to love my morning walk with Syd, our dog in the forest which is on the door step. We loved mountain biking out the door into miles of forest. As the boys grew up it we decided to move into Poole. I really miss being at Hyde and when both boys left home Wayne and I moved back here and refurbished the Barn. I love being back here and have enjoyed spending time creating our dream home. We have landscaped the garden and updated both properties. We both love travelling so during these periods we also rent out the barn.

Julie Osborne purchased this cottage in 2003

Why Julie Osborne chose Bere Regis

I bought this property as when I was looking for a place in the country I phoned an agent to enquire about another property which they had just sold and the agent said 'I have got another property but you wont like it as its on the edge of the forest and down a 1/2 mile track, in the middle of no where' She couldn't have been more wrong it was just what I was looking for!!!

What makes this cottage unique

As I drive into Hyde and Seek Retreats I always feel I am leaving the stresses of life behind and escaping to a magical place.

Only just got round to writing a review after a summer holiday at this wonderful house.

We found the house to be absolutely perfect for 6 adults and baby twins. The garden is beautiful and the outdoor heated seating area is ideal to enjoy the light evenings. I really can’t recommend this house highly enough. It is beautifully equipped with everything we could possibly have needed! It is well situated for touring the area and we definitely plan to return as soon as we can! Thank you so much!

Fantastic stay in a very beautiful Cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic weekend, celebrating my Mums 70th Birthday. The cottage was beautiful and very well equipped with everything you needed. Julie and Wayne were lovely and helped make our stay everything we hoped it would be. We can't wait until we stay again.

Fantastic, warm and characterful house with great outdoor space and hidden away from it all

  • 5 of 5

The house was lovely and everyone enjoyed the long weekend. We had three families in all and the space inside and out was perfect for us. The property was clean, very well equipped and full of character with exposed beams, lovely fireplace and two ways up to the first floor.

The kids enjoyed the lounge area and the lovely garden with the football goal, climbing froma, swings and slides. We had fun with them running around with frisbees, rugby balls and a football all while we had breakfast outside in the covered seating area.

We hired a private chef for one evening and the house was also perfect for this (phone signal is limited so had to give directions for how to find the house but all went well). With the split area for dining and lounge, we could enjoy some food while the kids played and watched a film at the other end of the room.

The house is also very near to Monkey World and the Tank Museum, both of which worked very well for trips out (each just 10-15 minutes drive away). With the house being tucked away we were able to get away from it all and enjoy disconnecting from everyday life. That being said, the nearest supermarket is only 15 minuets away, so very easy to get supplies.

The overwhelming response from everyone in our group was that they thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would like to come back again soon!

Beautiful cottage, great facilities, peaceful, stunning

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is stunning. The bedrooms are great and the kitchen/dining area is great for socializing. All the equipment you would ever need is there and there are numerous items that add to your stay.

What really stands out is the outside areas. It is obvious great attention has been paid to this. A large covered area with heaters makes for great entertaining and means you don't have to worry about the weather. A gas BBQ and fire pit is great for the kids to toast marshmallows etc. A brilliant play area, slide, swing, goal posts and lots of provided outside games (Jenga, quoits, boules, croquet) means the kids are occupied. Our kids also loved doing a scavenger hunt in the adjacent forest one day. There are lots of seated areas so you can just sit down and take in the peace whilst enjoying a cup of tea. Blissful.

This is our fourth annual get together and is easily is our best accommodation to date. So much so that the following day we've made plans to re-book next year. I cannot recommend the place enough.

Thanks you to the wonderful hosts for such a great place and magical weekend for all of us.
