The Kentish Village of Chilham lies high above the valley of the River Stour, in the Kent downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. On our doorstep are the lakes where you can fish at Midkent Fisheries, Stour Valley Walk and North Downs Way, where you can explore - walk, ride horses, or cycle. Canterbury & its Cathedral which oozes history - only 4 miles away. Dover Docks & Channel Tunnel - 20 mins drive and Ashford International Station the gateway to Europe being only 15 mins drive. About Fiona Ely


I have lived in Chilham for most of my life. I was three when my parents moved to Chilham. I went to Chilham Primary which is a great local primary school. When I was growing up my mother and I had a horse and we rode most of the countryside around this area. It is beautiful. I moved to Canterbury (only 5 miles from Chilham) in 1989 and ran a b&b there until 2005, when I saw this house up for sale. I used to ride with the girl who lived at Homelea and our first horse was also bought from here.

Why Fiona Ely chose Chartham

I have always known this house and the family who lived here while I was growing up. I never thought I would be living in it. It was perfect for me as my interests took me back into horses. I had my own horse which was in Chartham, so this ment my dream came true having my own horse on its own land and the house being a large family house ment we could convert it into a bed and breakfast. It has been a bed and breakfast since then and now I run it as a bed and breakfast or a self catering family home where people can hire the house and look after themselves. It has fantastic views and such a peaceful calming ambiance. It really is a home from home house. I love being able to share the beautiful surrounding I live in to other people.
