Beautiful and Relaxing
Had such a wonderful vacation with a secluded empty beach and beautiful outdoor living area with pool and hot tub. Couldn’t have asked for better food and weather!
We enjoyed everything about our stay at Villa las Mananitas and Playa las Tortugas. The villa had everything we needed and more. Great location, plenty of space. The outdoor area and pool were just amazing! The staff was excellent and we can't wait to return.
We loved this house! It was like a little piece of paradise. The pictures don’t do it justice. It was a long drive down the dirt road to get to the house and far from any stores so be sure to take with you everything you need. If not Pasqual was nice enough to offer to bring us a list of what we needed the next morning. Manuel cleaned the outside of the property every morning and did an awesome job! There is hardly any people on the beach but we didn’t mind. The pool is beautiful and a really good size! We will definitely be planning a trip back. Thank you Marianne for everything. You were very helpful with everything
Thank you, Kim, for your lovely review of Villa las Mananitas.
I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay! It truly is a bit of paradise, no crowds, vendors, just the natural beauty for you to enjoy with family and friends.
You and your family were wonderful guests and I look forward to your return!
Beautiful, relaxing and decadent
Playa Las Tortugas is quite a find. We’ve gone twice and can’t wait to go back.
We loved the Mexican decor in la Mananitas and how open the villa is. The pool was perfect for family and we loved the outdoor bar area by the pool.
We wanted to be away from the hustle bustle of puerto Vallarta. Playa Las Tortugas is peaceful and full of things to do. We spent our days kayaking, boogie boarding and swimming in the pool. We did a fishing trip arranged by Marianne and Mario and took a trip to the Thursday market at las penitas. It was all fantastic.
Perhaps the best thing was having meals cooked for us. The food was amazing and for a very reasonable cost we felt very spoiled.
We’ll be back.
Thank you, Brooke, for your wonderful review! My goal is for our guests to have a fantastic vacation and it sounds like you all did.
You and your family are wonderful and considerate guests, caring for the villa like your own.
I look forward to your next visit!
A Relaxing Family Getaway.
We had an amazing time at Villa las Mañanitas. I highly recommend getting the cooks to come daily, the breakfasts are amazing! It was a family getaway with my parents, Uncle and his wife and our two kids. I can't say enough about the privacy and relaxation of this property.
We started each day with body surfing on the beach, there was no one in sight, we had the whole beachfront to ourselves. We would come back up to the house around 9 to enjoy a cup of coffee and breakfast would be served shortly after. I can't say enough about the staff and their meals, it was amazing. After breakfast, we would each do our own thing and the kids could explore or lounge on the beach or by the pool. We were never concerned about safety it was nice to just relax and be carefree.
We rented a car so were able to explore the local communities, do a little shopping and immerse ourselves in the culture. Knowing a little Spanish gets you a long way as there aren't many who speak fluent English, or download the offline Spanish translation in Google translate.
We would end each night watching the sunset and make our way back to the house to sit down for a family dinner. I have to say I haven't eaten that many meals as a family in a long time. The hot tub was a perfect way to unwind just before bed.
The house had everything we needed and each couple had their own bathrooms. The kids were comfortable in their single beds (one in the master the other in the downstairs bedroom.
I highly recommend bringing a water bottle to refill for use daily and if you aren't renting a car making a stop in Puerto Vallarta to load up on some snacks and other beverages before you head to the house is a must as there are no shops on the property.
We were able to release turtles three nights while we were there and the experience was amazing, I can't say enough about it. The best 200 pesos per person we've ever spent.
If you're looking for a laid back quiet retreat Playa Las Tortugas is the place to visit.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It is nice to know that others appreciate the peace and serenity of our area. Oftentimes, people return from vacation...needing a vacation.
I, too, believe Playa las Tortugas is a very special place that's why we bought there so many years ago.
Again, thank you for your time, and we look forward to your return.
A week of paradise at Villa las Mañanitas on Playa las Tortugas!
If you're looking for a drive to your own private paradise, plan your stay at Villa las Mañanitas! You will NOT be disappointed. My husband and I spent a week there with our 2 teenage daughters. We loved it! The girls each had their own bedroom & bathroom, although the preferred showers were those in the main house. The house is decorated with museum quality art, yet not too fancy to be at the beach. There are many wonderful eating, napping, reading areas. Having our own pool was THE BEST! We actually never swam in either of the community pools. As we walked through the complex, we realized how lucky we were to be in a beachfront villa. We easily split our days between the pool and beach. Riding the waves on boogie boards was fun, although the owner should really invest in new boards. I ran on the beach every morning, and captured amazing sunset photos every night. At very low tide, we explored the other side of the estuary. Among other critters, it was exciting to discover 2 small octopuses (octopi)! As for staff, Jose was wonderful. He carried kayaks to the estuary so we could paddle back and see birds feeding at low tide, talked to the turtle camp staff and let us know when we could participate in a turtle release, arranged to have a caballero meet us on the beach for an evening horseback ride, and set up wood so we could light a bonfire on the beach (marshmallows and roasting sticks, too!). Miriam, our maid, cooked wonderful meals for us on 3 days. We only left Playa las Tortugas for one day, and that was for our very educational and interesting visit with Daniel and his wife at the Capulin Coffee Project. We rented our CRV from Gecko Rentals in Bucerias. They were incredible to deal with! Highly recommend! The drive itself is a wonderful adventure through the mountainous, rural area, rich with agriculture... pineapples, mangoes, bananas, jack fruit, watermelons, nuts, dairies, coconuts, coffee, papaya and more. We did our grocery shopping in Bucerias. I had packed a couple of insulated carrying bags to keep certain items cold on the long drive to Playa las Tortugas. Oh, oh, oh! How could I forget to mention the amazing gardens surrounding the villa! Such a beautiful variety of well established plants! Butterflies and hummingbirds liked the gardens, too! (As did the no see-ums & mosquitos. Even with bug spray, we all got bit. Souvenirs to bring home!) My family loved the private villa and beach. We hope to return!
I am so happy you enjoyed your stay at Villa las Mananitas! It is my very favorite villa at Playa las Tortugas.
I appreciate your very descriptive review and look forward to having you return!
