10.000 Years in the making! The Lake District, home to England’s largest natural lake and highest mountain, has joined the likes of the Grand Canyon, the Taj Mahal and Machu Picchu by being awarded Unesco World Heritage status. Come and visit the Lakes for yourself and be inspired by the unique ‘cultural landscape’ which has won this special global recognition.
As winter ends, we begin to look forward to spring in the Lake District. Springtime in Cumbria sees the county turn all shades of green, red & yellow as the valleys & hills come to life. The county comes alive with blossoming trees, dazzling carpets of bluebells and an array of golden daffodils brightening the lake shores. Spring is truly a beautiful time of year to visit.
