COLONIAL PARQUE is a Residence, italian family's property on the island since 1995, is located in the municipality of Santiago del Teide (declared a municipality of national touristic interest), specifically the area of ​​"Los Gigantes Cliff", in the south-west dell 'island of Tenerife. The area has the best climate.

This is one reason that drives people from all over Europe to stay especially during the winter, summer 22º / 30º climate always dry.

Beautiful view in Colonial Park

Initial mix up with booking did not spoil our holiday.

We arrived at Colonial Park at 8pm to find the advertised 24 hour reception closed. Having received no further information on how to check in this proved to be very problematic. On telephoning Silvia it became clear that she was not expecting us. We explained that we had a booking confirmation and she agreed to attend to speak to us. On her arrival it was discovered that she thought we were clients that had booked in previously and the confusion surrounded the other client and I having the same first name.

Silvia then took us to an alternative apartment in the block, however, it was NOT the apartment we had viewed on Owners Direct which we were expecting, it was very sparse with poor uncomfortable furniture including the bed and the view was not as advertised. I told Silvia that if this apartment had been advertised, we would definitely not have booked the property. We showed her the advert online and she recognised it as being apartment 34. She then asked us to stay one night in the alternative apartment and we could move to apartment 34 the following day. And as way of an apology for the inconvenience, she offered us a free meal in the Italian restaurant attached to the apartment,which we gladly accepted. The meal was great and we would recommend the restaurant.

The next day we moved to apartment 34 which was as advertised and far more comfortable than the alternative apartment. We enjoyed the remainder of our holiday in this apartment.

Silvia was very apologetic about the mix up and did everything to make our stay pleasant.

If booking this property, be aware that Silvia owns several apartments and the apartment advertised is not always what you get. The standard of the original apartment was well below the advertised apartment 34.

Furthermore wifi is only available in the common area at reception and not in the apartments. The 24 hour reception is certainly not open 24 hours.

The apartment block in general is very well maintained and the public areas are cleaned every day. The walk down to the harbour takes between 15-20 minutes.

Overall we enjoyed our stay in apartment 34 which had fantastic views over Los Gigantes, the cliffs and the sea.

Very bad, property probably seriously mold infested (Mycotoxins)

The apartment is probably toxic mold infested. (Mycotoxin) It caused the fourth day emergency transport to private hospital when breathing was collapsed because sudden blockade in the the throat for several minutes and impossible to breath. Intubation needed to be done. Earlier no A very dangerous situation occurred. Diagnos; Epiglotitis which is an extremely dangerous medical status caused by mold infested toxic environment. Rest of the stay continued in hospital with special permission to enter return flight with companion . Treatment ha continued in home country already for 10 days and will continue for several weeks. The apartment on the third flor has a terrace with no drainage and moisture will be sucked when raining into the construction of apartment. Additionally there are no air ventilation in the apartment. On the side of the house absolutely close to the construction there is also a very big dirt water reservoar which can have an effect in the matter. The surface of the apartment is kept by cleaner ok but it is also easy to determine if the doors are closed a very heavy layer of odour and bad smell is entering the air of the apartment. Apartment absolutely not recommended for human use. The stay in Tenerife was completely destroyed and should be compensated. Actual authority documentation of the matter was done. Rate: minus several stars.
