Pilchards is a warm, comfortable and extra special hideaway for those seeking a memorable stay in the village of Noss
Mayo. Located by the creek in Noss, this newly refurbished cottage offers luxury, cosiness and ample opportunity to relax and enjoy all that the stunning South Hams has to offer.
Pilchards retains all the period features and sensitive touches that ensure the character and essence of this once-thatched old fisherman's cottage remain intact. Everything you expect from a character cottage will still be found but updated and refurbished to provide comfort and a touch of luxury. If you are seeking the perfect blend of comfort and character with a splash of style and privacy, Pilchards awaits you.
Pilchards is approached via a short traffic-free walkway with separate private parking. A wooden stable door opens into the lovely light living area with comfy snug chaise sofa, window seats, wood-burning stove for cosy evenings in, exposed beams and period features that truly enhance the ambience.
The newly refurbished kitchen provides ample seating for 4 and has all the mod cons any discerning holiday maker will need. We especially love the large American style fridge!
The oak staircase leads up to the two bedrooms and lovely new shower room.
Both bedrooms have character and charm. The main bedroom has the comfiest king size bed ever (as big as could fit up the stairs!) exposed beams and window seat.
The smaller bedroom has two single beds – one being a cabin bed. The window seat provides a squinty view of the creek!
The bathroom is newly fitted with a walk-in shower and large towel rail.
Pilchards has a small garden area to the rear of the property which is a private part of the owners garden. It is decked out and is the perfect space to have a bar b que and enjoy a quiet glass or two and watch the sun go down.
To the front the owners have provided table and chairs so a morning breakfast can be enjoyed whilst watching the swans or the odd paddle boarder on the creek. The tidal estuary of the River Yealm laps the foreshore (known as The Hard) where gig boats and small watercraft launch. Bring your canoe and paddle up the estuary!
Come for a night or three - relax, recharge the batteries, breathe in the sea air. A bucketful of activities all within easy reach - that is if you can drag yourself away from the cosy comforts of your holiday home.
No telephone, poor mobile signal but good wifi.
