A great find

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for somewhere quiet, slightly off the beaten track but with restaurants within a short drive. A (quiet) pool was a must; nearby beaches less of a priority but on the list.

Carol was excellent from the moment we booked, and her communication was first rate. Directions from the airport were spot on - these were needed as the villas are nicely tucked away on a hillside. Note, a car is essential.

Carol was always really helpful with restaurant suggestions, beach hints (they are numerous but we invariably found them very busy) and local knowledge. Nothing was too much trouble.

We stayed for two weeks in villa No.2. The rooms were exactly as described and pictured and there was air-conditioning in each of the bedrooms which was effective at bringing the rooms to an ideal sleeping temperature. The kitchen was well equipped, the villa very clean, and the view from the front patio across the hills and fields to the sea in the distance suitably picturesque.

For most of the two week duration we found we had the very private pool area to ourselves. There was an abundance of wildlife including swallows, swallow tail butterflies and we even found a praying mantis one day! On the rare occasion other villa occupants joined us around the pool it did not feel crowded and there are plenty of sun beds.

The villa was a great exploring base for us but do not underestimate how long it takes to get around on the Crete roads.

The nearest restaurant is just a 5 minute drive away and there are several more within a 10 minute drive, none of which were overly touristy. If you are looking for the latter, or more up scale restaurants, then these are just a 15-20 minute drive away but we only felt the need to venture that far a couple of times. There are also two small supermarkets within a 10 minute drive selling enough for breakfast, lunch and simple meals.

Should we ever go back to Crete we will definitely be in contact with Carol to see if one of her villas is available.

Lovely villa in the most relaxing location.

  • 5 of 5

A very clean and tidy, well looked after villa. Has everything you need for a fantastic holiday. Very quiet location away from the busy beach area but close enough to enjoy it all. Carol was great leaving us a welcome pack to get us through the first night, and providing us with good directions to all the local shops and places of interest. The pool area was very well kept and the pool was very clean, I believe Fred cleaned it every morning, which was always finished before we ever got poolside ;-) We were very well looked after without anyone intruding. Car definitely needed. Would definitely visit again.

Many thanks Carol & Fred.

Matt & Jean.

Excellent property

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay in this villa. It was immaculate on our arrival both from the cleanliness point of view and condition. The welcome pack was generous and well appreciated. Carol and Freddie were very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed having drinks with them one evening on our terrace. Swimming in the pool was most enjoyable - 32 degrees most of the time. We travelled 2500km in the month we stayed and would most definitely recommend a car as there is so much to see in the area. We preferred to barbeque in the evenings not having to worry about driving therefore able to have a glass or two of wine. We used the larger supermarkets for stocking up but used the small local one for odds and ends - locally produced wine rakki and olive oil. Have had similar holidays in Spain and found supermarket shopping in Crete more expensive but this would not deter us from coming back. Thank you Carol and Freddie.

Wonderful property in a wonderful location..

  • 5 of 5

(apologies for the late review!) We stayed for a fortnight with Fred and Carol. Great early season bargain. The property is very clean and tidy with pretty much everything you need for your holiday, even borrowing a BBQ. Had the place to ourselves for most of the time which was nice in itself. Carol and Fred are wonderfjmn ul, caring and attentive hosts. Nice touch with the welcome pack. As start of season most resorts were 'closed' but that didnt stop us having a good rove around in the car. A car is pretty much a requirement to enjoy the full benefits of the location. Wont say much more as we'd like to keep a wee secret! But you wont regret booking this accomodation with wonderful hosts.

Its about just over an hour from Heraklion a good run..

amazing

I can't think of a single negative thing to say about this villa and indeed Carol and Fred. Carol and Fred couldn't do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. A welcome basket was provided was enough to last us through until we could get to lidls and the info booklet was brilliant in helping us plan our days out. The villa itself provided everything you could need to make your stay comfortable and the pool was cleaned daily by Fred. I would certainly recommend Carol and her beautiful villas to anyone who wants to visit this beautiful island. Thank you for helping us have a fantastic holiday
