This cosy cottage is located in the hilltop town of Chulmleigh... which is more like a village with great amenities including a convenience store, a butcher's shop, a baker's shop (selling the most amazing bread and cakes!!), a couple of pubs and a tea shop. Chulmleigh is situated in North Devon between Exmoor and Dartmoor with easy access to the coast and some wonderful beaches. The cottage is over 250 years old and overlooks the church. It is detached and has a private secluded safe courtyard both at the front and the back of the cottage. There are two double bedrooms and a small single bedroom, a kitchen/dining area and a cosy living room with a wood burner for those cold days! The bathroom upstairs has a shower within the bath and downstairs is a W.C. All towels and bedding are provided. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher and a fridge/freezer. Small dogs are welcome but we just ask that they don't go upstairs. The local shop (open from 06:30 until 21:00) has everything you need including logs and kindling for the fire if you need it. The Red Lion pub has a wonderful cosy atmosphere, offering good home style cooked food and some great ales!! Just over the back of the cottage is access to Chulmleigh golf course - an 18 hole par 3 course, a family run business.

A very comfortable, well presented, cosy cottage.
The cottage was well equipped and in a good location to visit both coasts. It was warm and attractively decorated. We found parking easily nearby. Thank you for a relaxing break.
Thank you for your review, so pleased you enjoyed your stay!
Really lovely place to stay with nice touches within the property. Beds were very comfortable and a
Great for walking, horse riding and seeing the country side with a couple of good pubs.
Beautiful homely cottage!
Beautiful cottage with a real homely feel. Fantastic local pub serving great food and the village shop has everything you need. I must recommend the Indian take away too as it was the best curry we have ever had. My only criticism is there wasn’t many pans and baking trays in the kitchen to use. A few more utensils are deffinatly needed. Other than that we will deffinately come back again :(
Lovely Cottage and Village
Spent a long weekend, cottage was warm and cosy as the weather was awful. Village has a bakery and other useful shops.
Really lovely property. Very homely with everything we needed. The only issue was the cleanliness.
The cottage was beautiful. Homely, spacious and a decorated lovely. The town was lovely, a little more remote than we anticipated but the quiet town was a welcome change. The only thing we felt let it down was the cleanliness of the cottage. It looked as though it hadn't had a thorough clean in quite some time. Thick cobwebs throughout, dead bugs and quite dusty. We had to give it a good clean before we felt comfortable, especially with having children with us. Despite that I would recommend the cottage to other people looking for a peaceful break, and the fact that the owners were happy for our 3 dogs to stay was very good of them. We felt very at home in this cosy cottage.
Très bon séjour
Très jolie maison, décorée avec goût, au cœur du village de Chulmleigh. Tous commerces à 2 mn à pied. Contact très facile et amical avec les propriétaires. Séjour parfait.
