Brilliant stay and location!
We had an amazing time, so much so that we have booked the property for 2 weeks next year!
One observation would be the beds. Perhaps they need a bit of attention as they were very squeaky. Only an observation certainly not a complaint.
Great home in a fantastic location
Lovely clean house, plenty to do around the area.
Greeted by Catherine who was very friendly and showed us round the house. Lovely location and managed to explore a number of the local attractions. Danny Minnie's is definitely worth a visit for a treat and Happiness, the Chinese take away was excellent. Glenveagh Castle was lovely and so was Fanah Head Lighthouse
Facility was great. However, it was dirty. It could use a through spring cleaning.
Location and house were fine. Catherine who welcomed us was polite and friendly. The house was dirty and unhygienic which made us hesitant to use dishes, kitchen sinks, microwave, refrigerator and bathrooms without cleaning them ourselves. The house was also not ready for us when we arrived at the appointed time. When we complained about it to the owner who is not in the country, his response was, “you can leave at any time.”
I use the automated booking function in order to facilitate a quick and easy booking for my prospective guests. It has one drawback however and that is the ability to filter out the very rare undesirable visitor through direct contact. This visitor was a case in point. Rather, than meet at the appointed time at the house, he called from the local pub and asked to be collected there. My property manager, Catherine, always willing to accommodate, obliged. In doing so, she left a washing in the machine spinning which had to be removed afterwards. Shortly after she finished showing them the house I received an email from the client telling me in his opinion Catherine was basically not up to the job and suggested I look for someone who was. Furthermore, the house was unclean. I checked back with her, and she told me his general demeanor was aggressive and in her opinion he was in fact drunk. I in turn responded by telling him he was not obliged to stay and could leave at any time. There was no further contact for the remainder of their stay and this review was his parting gift to me.
In my 12 years with Home-Away I have never had a similar experience to this one We always strive to make sure our guests have a wonderful stay in my property and the previous reviews are I believe, testament to that. In closing, I would like to say how upsetting it is that an individual using this forum can be so unjustifiably negative.
Lovely stay, but we couldn’t take a shower. We couldn’t make them work.
If there was a problem with the showers I'm struggling to understand why they didn't report it to the property manager, who would have taken steps to have it resolved immediately.
Excellent Accommodation and lovely situation
A real gem of a cottage in the deepest Donegal. Lovely location and superb facilities. A real must for visiting Donegal we will be back.
The house is located on the 'Wild Atlantic Way' route.
From first to the last the design and execution of this house has been influenced by the owner himself and reflects his artistic nature. You will be happy to spend time in and around the house soaking up its relaxed atmosphere.
The house is accessed via a private road and is enclosed by sheltering rock- faces, giving the back garden complete privacy. There is a path which leads directly to the strand from the garden ( walking boots recommended ) . The afternoon hours, while the tide is out, affords you the opportunity to explore this unspoiled area and observe at close quarters the numerous sea birds. It is also home to a wide variety of shell fish and includes mussel and commercial oyster beds. The evening brings the tide and with it the chance to swim in calm waters. Depending on the tides and season, the water depth varies between one and two meters
The same strand at its furthest point adjoins Carrickfinn blue flag beach and the Crolly river from where the young salmon begin there long swim to Canada.
The view from the front of the house is dominated by the majestic form of Mount Errigal. The barbecue and patio areas are situated to take maximum advantage of the visually stunning sunsets.
Annagry village has three pubs and two restaurants. One of which is the renowned Killindarragh House “Danny Minnie´s”. Some of the regions most famous artists, such as Clannad, Enya and Altan began their careers playing in the traditional pubs which define the area. You can leave your car at home in the evening and stroll to the village. It's only a few minutes away.
There is a large selection of hotels and pubs in the Rosses region where you can get good food and entertainment at reasonable prices.
Dungloe town has a variety of supermarkets including Aldi and Lidl.
