Mrs C Rowe
About Mrs C Rowe
I have taken over the running of this holiday cottage from my husbands parents who have been running it for over 20 years and who have been living at the farm house for 80 years and over 50 years.
Why Mrs C Rowe chose Saxmundham
Many customers can not believe how quiet it is at the cottage and many have booked numerous return visits. One couple have been coming every year for 20 years.
Relaxing break in beautiful surroundings
Well equipped, comfortable cottage within easy reach of local attractions.
Fantastic short stay
We stayed in this cottage for 3 nights in early summer. The Cottage was perfect for our needs and we had a lovely break here. The cottage is well equipped with everything you may need and is very clean. The bedrooms are a great size. (we were 2 adults and a toddler) There was ample room in the twin room to place a travel cot and, if requested, a board can be made available to block the top of the stairs from adventurous toddlers. The house is very secluded but this was not a problem. The nearest town is just 5 mins drive away. The gardens and surrounding fields are beautiful. The couple who live in the farmhouse (attached) are lovely. They were very welcoming and friendly. We made full use of the gardens during the lovely weather. We would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family and will return again ourselves.
Thank you very much for having us.
What a beautiful place to stay! This was our first trip to Suffolk and it didn't disappoint. The cottage is located in a lovely, tranquil spot, something that was very important to us. It is very conveniently placed to visit RSPB Minsmere which was the main purpose of our trip. We had a wonderful warm welcome, all of the facilities we needed, great restaurants nearby and saw loads of birds! A very big thank you to Caroline and her family for making this a perfect trip for us. We only stayed for three nights but we definitely will be back for longer next time.
Hidden gem in Suffolk countryside
Rubblestone cottage is in a perfect location. In the picturesque ountryside of Suffolk yet close to several small beaches. The cottage itself is immaculately clean, with a well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, welcoming hostess. Would not hesitate to rent again or recommend to friends and family.
Thank you so much for the review into yourstay at Rubblestone cottage. I am so pleased you had an enjoyable stay. Thank you also for the feedback /visitors comments you wrote, they were very kind words. We do try our best to have a very well equipped cottage and try to make it a home from home.
A delightfull stay in the country
We booked three days but wished we had booked extra to enable us to see more of the area.
The cottage was as described and eveything from start to finish was well organised. The cottage was very well equiped and supplied, with everything thought of. We couldn't have asked for more.
Thank you Caroline. We hope to be back in the future.
Wonderful location and people
We were lucky enough to discover this property on Home & Away and it was free for the dates we needed so I booked.
Set in the middle of the Suffolk countryside but not too far from the nearest town and shops, it was perfect for us.
On arrival we received a lovely welcome from the couple who live in the farmhouse attached to the cottage.
Located on a retired farm, there are still farm buildings, a huge garden, two lovely cats and a goose that lives on the hidden pond behind the gate. There were also a family of moorhens with their little chicks so our two children were instantly smitten with the place. So smitten that after extensive questioning of the retired farmers by our 12-year-old son, we are now going to become Suffolk farmers. Watch this space :-)
The house itself was spotless and welcoming. A big basket of teas, coffee and biscuits were on the table and they'd even had the forethought to put a pint of milk in the fridge. Bonus points earned ;-)
The two bedrooms had everything we needed, so a twin room for the children and a double room for us. Downstairs, the kitchen had everything we needed and a welcome radio, the living room was comfortable and homely, with TV and DVD player, and the bathroom was clean, with a shower and toilet.
If I had one gripe, it was that the shower made it almost impossible to find a comfortable temperature, and if someone (that means you, kids) decides to flush the loo or turn on a tap then you need to get out quick. But this added to the fun of the holiday and was a quirk rather than a major problem.
We had a wonderful few days but we regularly visit Suffolk as my dad lives here, and we love the area. This house was perfectly placed for our favourite walks along the coast and RSPB Minsmere and we will definitely be booking again when we next visit.
I would like to say a big thank you to Caroline and her in laws for making us welcome.
