Bowler Hat Letting
About Bowler Hat Letting
Hello, I'm Angie. After quitting the rat race I wanted to do something totally different. With my background in building and manufacturing, renovating a property wasn't too out of my comfort zone. I see the key facts of running a business remain the same: offer a great product, at a competitive price, look after your customers and I find you can't go too wrong. Running a holiday let is a brand new and exciting experience for me. It's important to me that your stay is as memorable and relaxing as possible. I want you to come again or help to spread the word.
Bowler Hat Letting purchased this House in 2015
Why Bowler Hat Letting chose Woodstock
I found an unloved property back in 2015 right in the heart of Woodstock and brought it back to life, through blood, sweat & tears. The muscle pain has gone now but I'm still waiting for my nails to grow back! So why stay here? Well it's a convenient location, has lots of character and I care about you having a great stay.
What makes this House unique

Perfect base for our short break
We had a lovely few days staying in Angie's beautiful cottage. Perfect location for visiting Blenheim, which is a 5 minute walk away, or Bicester which is a short drive away. Loved all the personal touches in the cottage - drinks in the fridge, little treats for my son and toiletries. Immaculately presented and decorated, super comfortable beds and lots of information about the local area/things to do. We would highly recommend staying here and would love to return.
Excellent I would definitely reconmend
the owner is superb
The property was perfect, beautifully furnished, right in the centre of Woodstock close to all amenities. Walking distance to Blenheim. Perfect for our long weekend. Would stay again
What a great experience! This cosy cottage was perfect for our family of 4 visiting the area. The attention to detail here is amazing - the cottage is gorgeously restored. Angela and Allister are great hosts who helped us plan our activities and gave great suggestions.
The location is really ideal if you plan to blend a visit to the Cotwolds with some time in Oxford, Blenheim (within walking distance) and, as our hosts suggested, Warwick castle. I wish we had more time to explore the area - there was so much charm, natural beauty, and amazing history. We’ll have to find our way back soon and when we do, we won’t hesitate to book this great property again.
Sarah & Sharon Blenheim Triathlon 2019
Beautiful cottage, in a beautiful village, near a beautiful setting for a triathlon. Angie made us feel very welcome. The cottage is done to a high standard and the location is perfect for Woodstock, with its nice pubs and restaurants........
We will be back next year xxx
Everywhere you look is a “wow”!
We have travelled extensively around the world and stayed in some very top notch accommodation but without doubt No5 is THE most exceptional. To say the owner has “an eye for detail” is an understatement. Angie contacted us before our arrival to ask what our “tipple” was. The fridge was stocked with that “tipple”. Angie had remembered my longing for a good soak in a bath. The roll top bath here is luxurious beyond words. Angie provides luxurious bathing salts and bubbles and even face masks to complete your pampering. There is a cute “grooming” area on the landing fully equipped with a hair dryer in it’s own unique case, and face cleansers and creams! It goes without saying that the cottage is spotlessly clean. The bed linen and towels smelt of a freshness I have not experienced anywhere else. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in and I know it’s a cliche to say we didn’t want to get out of it but one day we actually didn’t! There were treats everywhere we looked, from cookies to freshly laid eggs to Spanish hot chocolate, which, if you haven't ever tried Spanish hot chocolate it is something you should book No 5 for just to do so! Angie provides every kind of tea imaginable. There are even juniper berries to give your G&T an extra kick! Angie even sourced us skimmed goats’ milk! That request, was I confess, a bit tongue in cheek, but nope, Angie sourced it for us and there it was in the fridge! We “lived” in No 5 for five nights. I felt like I was in a 21st Century luxury version of a Jane Austen novel. With Blenheim Palace just across the road, I felt I was living in a part of history. We were lucky with the weather when we arrived so ate out in the very pretty and private garden yard. Damn! there is even a novelty crystal water drop dripping from the watering can! One evening turned cooler and so we burnt a compressed paper log in the prettiest wood burner I have ever seen. How can a wood burner be pretty? Because it’s Angie’s. Angie really is the most delightful host. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she deserves every accolade we give her. We love living on our beach but No 5 has become our country bolt hole and we shall return, often. Thank you for being there Angie, You put style into a different league!
