About the property

A fine grade II listed Georgian home, the Rose House is maintained to a very high specification enjoying panoramic sea views across the Bristol Channel towards the Gower Peninsula on the South Wales coast. The Rose House sleeps up to eight guests in four bedrooms - (two double and two twin/double with TV in each room) - two of which are en-suite. The master bedroom can only be described as "luxurious" with, (in addition to an en-suite shower room), a free-standing bath, a super-king bed and spectacular sea views! The home offers three reception rooms including a large dining room for family gatherings as well as a spacious lounge with a large bay window from which guests can relax and enjoy the summer sunsets over the sea horizon. The home also boasts a large contemporary kitchen/breakfast area with an "Everhot" range cooker and bi-fold doors that open onto the courtyard garden/sitting area. The rear of property offers secure garage parking for two vehicles (max 2 metre headroom).

The home is perfect for family or group holidays and is situated within walking distance of Ilfracombe's historic harbour (with Damien Hirst's Verity),Tunnels Beaches Wedding Venue, restaurants, art galleries, swimming pool and town centre shops, cinema etc. Ilfracombe itself is located on the rugged North Devon coast providing direct access to the coast path and easy travel to the world renowned surfing beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton to the west and Exmoor National Park, the Valley of Rocks and the historic towns of Lynton and Lynmouth to the east.

About The Owner

Since we moved to beautiful north Devon in 2012, we have taken great delight in decorating/renovating our lovely grade 2 listed Georgian home overlooking the sea. We are passionate about art and design which, we trust, is reflected in the decor of each room of the house. We first opened the house for holiday rental in 2017 when reviews indicated that guests appreciated the quality of accommodation as much as we do. We trust that future guests will feel likewise!

The rose house

We really enjoyed our stay in the rose house we found it very well equipped and it realLy was a beautiful house the only downside was the climb back up from the harbour etc we would definitely recommend it to our friends also the garage was a great bonus as well

Rose House offers lots of space for families and is very well presented offering quiet spaces and large family areas to come together to eat or just to enjoy the constantly changing views over the Bristol Channel.

Probably the best holiday rental in North Devon

If you stay in Ilfracombe you will not find a better property than "The Rose House". The house itself is fabulous with big rooms and stunning views, but it is the quality of the furnishing and the homely touches that make any stay here a delight. The rooms are all spacious and there is plenty of space even for 8 people, even when everyone is together in the dining or sitting rooms. The terrace behind the house is a great place to sit and relax or eat at any time of day - whilst the double garage at the back of the property is very useful given the limited parking in the town.

The owners were very kind in answering questions before we arrived and generous in their welcome to this lovely family home.

The only caveat is that the house is up a fairly steep hill and has accommodation on four floors but for us the location gives the best balance of quick access to the town as well as sea views so this is only relevant for someone has mobility issues.

We WILL be back!! Richard, Jenny & family.
