About Bournecoast Holidays

Bournecoast are the area's leading supplier of self-catering accommodation in Bournemouth and surrounding area and are proud of being a family business since 1960. We have a large selection of studio apartments and family accommodation in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the surrounding areas.

Bournecoast Holidays purchased this bungalow in 1960

Why Bournecoast Holidays chose Friars Cliff

Bournemouth supplies the perfect base from which to explore the full pleasures of the area (Dorset & Hampshire), as it offers a mix of experiences to suit all tastes. All set in area that enjoys the UK's best weather and warmest temperatures. All set in a surprisingly compact area, making it the ideal place to visit for any length of time, from one week to two months.

Situated only 2 ½ hrs drive (the time usually taken to drive to the airport and check in) from Birmingham and London, Bournemouth presents itself as a destination that is conveniently only a short drive for many, and brings with it more benefits than most European destinations.

Set in one of the most beautiful parts of southern England, Bournemouth and Poole are justly famous for their seven miles of golden sandy beaches, both Poole and Bournemouth beach have been awarded Blue Flag status meaning they are internationally recognised to be of the highest standard, but there is so much more to the area than the seashore.

The area has a host of award-winning restaurants, bars, clubs, theatres, museums and cinemas, as well as countless attractions and places of interest.

With its ponies, protected natural beauty and thousand years of history, the New Forest is Bournemouth's back yard and for those of you of a literary bent, Thomas Hardy country is just a few miles away (Bournemouth being Hardy's Sandbourne). Continuing the themes, the tranquillity of the nearby isle of Purbeck was the inspiration for Enid Blyton's Famous Five adventures.

Add to that the National Trust sanctuary of Poole’s Brownsea Island and the historic charms of Christchurch and its famous Priory and you have the perfect backdrop for your holiday - with accommodation from Bournecoast being the cherry on the cake.

Great location, the property could do with updating.

Very, very narrow drive. Single glazing which meant we could clearly hear the builders next door. House felt cold, but the central heating warmed it nicely. Furniture looks like it was was installed when the house was built and beds need serious updating. No Internet, take that as a plus or minus :-). Phone signal for O2 and EE poor in the area, so not having a house phone was a drawback for us. Location within walking distance of the beach and easy access to main roads is great.

A gem of a place!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay; a lovely, quiet location and a short walk to the beach. Comfortable beds with fresh linen and an amazing shower. The garden is tired but a sanctuary of its own.

My only constructive criticism is that the oven was dirty when we arrived and had to be cleaned before use. Also there were builders working next door who started at 7.30am which woke us. However when I mentioned this to the friendly neighbour - she got them to start later on the latter days of our stay, which was much appreciated. Understandably this was beyond the letting agent's control.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback both good and bad. Naturally we're extremely pleased to hear you thoroughly enjoyed your stay in what is as you a wonderful location. With regards to the condition of the oven and the level of disruption from neighboring works I'm aware our customer service team is in dialogue with the property owner and yourself and trust this will conclude in a satisfactory manner. Again thank you for your candid feedback and we look forward to helping you once again with your holiday needs down on the south coast.

It is clean and provides everything that is needed for a holiday cottage.

Unfortunately, there was building work going on next door, which started at 7 am with banging, shouting, drilling and a radio on all the time. We couldn't use the garden because there was no peace to be had. They left the radio on one night and it was difficult to get the baby to sleep.

There are positives though. The beach was only a walk away and we were lucky to have had the lovely hot weather so we went there most days. There is a shop just a walk away and a couple of restaurants close by.

Set comfortably between Bournemouth and the New Forest, the popular town of Christchurch is home to Dorset’s finest. Whilst offering an array of unique and quaint attractions including a busy high street, Christchurch too offers a front row seat to some of the finest beaches that Dorset is renowned for.

Set in an extremely popular holiday spot, the Avon Beach and Friars Cliff Beach is just a stones throw away, which makes the perfect family trip out for you and your children. For those who like to live an active lifestyle and fancy taking the plunge into Dorset’s waters, then head to ‘The Crazywater Surf School’ at Highcliff Beach where you’ll find the friendly surf team, there to make you and your family feel safe in the waters whilst trying out one of the most famous types of water sports on the coast. Whether it’s just a bit of fun or some competition between family and friends, Crazywater is a must-try.

In addition to its attractive shoreline and extremely safe beaches, Christchurch offers a wide range of entertainment. From contemporary pottery painting at ‘The Clay Studio’, to children’s adventure park ‘Serendipity Sams Play and Party Centre’, Christchurch makes for a perfect family stay.
