This charming holiday house is situated on top of a hill with a rich view over the landscape of the Perigord Noir and the village of Saint-Pompon. Ideal if you're looking for a quiet location with a private garden and pool, but also near the most beautiful places of this region, such as the Valley of the 5 Castles near the Dordogne river and the medieval towns of Domme and Sarlat. The house sleeps up to 10 people and has all the facilities you need.
In the big garden with beautiful views over the entire region lies the infinity pool (11x5 descending 1-2m) with a terrace and reclining seats. Thanks to the heat pump the water stays warm from May to October! Going for a quick swim at night is not a problem with the pool lightning. The pool also has an alarm (but no fence around the pool). Furthermore, the kids can enjoy themselves on the trampoline or do some soccer in the huge garden. And of course: there's no holiday without a barbecue!
Of course, there's free wifi. The spacious dining room and living room with chimney gives out on the terrace on the front side of the house as well as on the backside. You can choose to eat inside or outside on the terrace (table for 8 people). Connected to the dining room you can find the kitchen, complete with a fridge, an oven, a microwave oven, a gas stove with damper and a dishwasher. In the storage room you can find the washer and the dryer. The holiday home is completely smoke-free and pets are not allowed.
The sleeping area:
The sleeping area consist of a separate toilet, two bedrooms (beds: 160 x 200) and one bedroom with a bunk bed fit for 3 (bottom 120 x 200, top 90 x 200). An extra foldaway bed is on the spot. On the end of the hallway you can find the bathroom with a double sink and a bathtub with shower. There’s a completely new showerroom with sink and toilet on the 1st floor. You can also access the attic room (double bed 160x200) and 'boat bed' (80x180), and there's space enough to put the mobile bed (90x200) here. Max capacity: 6 adults and 4 children.
EXTRA: you can rent the attic room as an extra room for 30€/night (low season) or 40€/night (July+August). If you're a party with more than 4 adults, renting the attic room is obliged.
Situated on 1,5 kilometers from the village (with a bar, restaurant, grocery shop, bakery, butcher and parmacy) and 15 minutes from the most beautiful attractions in the Dordogne and Périgord Noir.
On just a 10 to 15 minute drive away lies Domme, a wonderful medieval village on the top of a mountain with a beautiful view over the valley of the river the Dordogne. Ten minutes further lies Sarlat, where shopping in the ancient city centre is a delight.
Through a small side road you reach the Valley of the Five Castles in merely 10 minutes. The medieval Castelnaud and a little bit further the castle of Beynac, but also the famous Château des Milandes (which once belonged to the American singer Josephine Baker) and the Jardins de Marqueyssac are popular places. People who concider themselves to be more of the adventurous type can go kayaking on the Dordogne, or even fly over the valley with a ULM.
The Dordogne is also known for its caves, like the Grotte du Grand Roc, near Les Eyzies-de-Tayac. Further lay the world-famous caves of Lascaux, about 40 minutes from Saint-Pompon.
