Great. Perfectly situated for the whole family to enjoy all the activities on offer in the area.
Cabin was clean, well equipped and situated in a manner that offers privacy. Julie was a great host too.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, I am so happy you enjoyed your visit to the Lake District and managed to do all the activities you planned. I hope you will come back again soon.

Great location,Very welcoming /equipped & comfortable cabin. Would have liked to use the veranda & BBQ, just not enough time 😉So will have to return. GrandKids loved every minute- we never heard the 'b' word(boring) & slept like little 'logs'😴 Saw nuthatch , robins, long tail tit heard, owls woodpecker. Had a lovely stay hope to return. A 40th wedding Anniversary 💜to remember-Many thanks🌳🌲
Really picturess and peaceful location. Also quite easy to get too. Nice little towns and facilities
Would definitely go again.
Excellent and clean
Excellent cabin very clean.
Instruction from Julie were spot on and easy to follow for directions and for getting the keys to the property.
The site was more than accommodating for the kids clean pool and even better that it's done in time slots so the pool isn't packed.
Lots of fun things for the kids to do in and around the surrounding areas.
Will 100% be booking back up to go but for much longer next time
How lovely to hear you had such a good time and the children had fun. It's so nice to know that you liked the lodge and I hope we have the pleasure of having you back again soon. Thank you once again for your kind words.
Too remote especially for older people
The walk up the hill was extreme. Place was designed for families with children, more like a campground. Sleeps 6 but inconvenient for 6 people to relax only seats 5 in comfort. The bed in the room with the shower smelled musty. The cabins are quaint but do not offer overall comfort. Refrigerator door sometimes would not close could not figure why. Poorly advertised on the website giving insufficient information about location.
I am very sorry to hear you felt the site was not suitable for you. It is clearly described on the booking site as being on a holiday park and also clearly described as being suitable for families with children so you are correct in pointing out that the park was designed for families with children. I am a little confused however as I understood you had children with you, your daughter sent me a note to say she thought the spot was lovely and was hoping to visit again.
I am quite shocked you describe it as being too remote. The lodge is on a site which has many facilities including a restaurant, bar and leisure facilities. Buses are available just outside the gate to many areas of the Lake District including Windermere and Ambleside which are within a few miles of the site and reached within minutes so remote is a very unusual description.
The lounge has 2 good sized sofas and I have never had anyone say there is not enough room to relax. There are also 6 dining chairs internally and we have a 6 seater dining set with reclining chairs plus a sofa and chair set on the decking. I understand you had bad weather whilst you were in the Lake District which unfortunately may have made you feel restricted to being indoors which is a great pity.
I really hope your daughter does get to visit again when the weather is good.
A musty smell in the bedroom with the en suite shower attached could possibly be wet towels hung up rather than being dried on the radiators, I cannot control that am afraid. I do suggest in the book in the lodge that windows are opened after showers have been taken in order to ensure condensation does not settle.
I will ensure everywhere is checked to make sure that is the only reason for the musty smell. We have several condensation collecting air fresheners also to avoid this but I am happy to put more in.
I will have a look at the fridge, I have had several visitors since and it is shutting fine but I will arrange a new fridge just to be sure it doesn't happen again.
I have ensured on the ad the lodge is described as being on White Cross Bay and the full address and location are given including a map but will look at how much more I can put on there.
I have had no negative reviews in the 10 years I have owned the lodge and have fantastic comments in my visitors book so I am sad to think you did not enjoy your stay however in my visitors book your daughter admits she did not do her homework and thought it was a hotel you booked!!
Lovely weekend break in a beautiful area
We had a lovely long weekend break in this well equipped log cabin. They provided pretty much everything we needed and Julie was very helpful when we contacted her. Staff at the resort could have been friendlier but the little shop came in handy. The cabin is well maintained and very clean and in a quiet area and is very private considering the number of holiday homes around. We had a lovely stay.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and that you really appreciated the privacy the lodge offers.
I hope you get to come again soon. Thanks again.
