Perched on a hill overlooking Nice, historic stone farmhouse with lovely views of the Mediterranean and surrounding hills. The property faces south & is seated on a very old olive grove on an acre of land. Originally a Roman watchtower, our entirely renovated 'mas Provençal' was built in several stages over the centuries, and is steeped with character & charm. The house is an ideal family holiday home, with lots of outdoor and indoor space, including a big heatable swimming pool, a swing set, fruit trees (including delicious figs in August), a ping pong table and barbecue. The garden is perfectly safe for children & the land is protected by a wall and intercom for visitors. Tennis courts are 5 minutes away 7 the seaside is just 15 minutes down the road. Lots of mountain hiking and climbing too. Please ask for complete set of pictures.
Hi, I'm an american artist, living in France for the past 35 years with my wife and family.
Edgar Montana purchased this villa in 1998
Tons of character and charm, in a lovely setting, shaded by hundred year old olive and cypress trees.
Beautiful setting with view of the sea, heated pool, a unique historic stone farmhouse dating back to the roman period, including genuine medieval fireplaces.
Absolutely great place with the most fantastic view over Nice and the Mediterranean Sea.
We were two families - kids from 7 - 18 years - in total ten persons and at no time we felt it being crowded. The pool is Perfect and the garden has plenty of Space for kids to play, petanque, tabletennis ect.
We will return one day for sure!
We spent 2 wonderful weeks in this house located in a gated residential area in the hills above Nice. Dating from the 15th-17th centuries, the house and grounds were beautiful. The view of the city and the sea were spectacular especially from the top of the tower. With so many things to do in the area there were days when we just stayed home to enjoy the pool and garden. The owners, Edgar and Catherine were of great help, both in person and on the phone. There are several excellent restaurants about 1 km. from the house.
I highly recommend this property.
Note, a car is essential but the best way to go into Nice is via the tram located about 3 km down the hill.
We just spend 1 week in this wonderful house. Even better is the garden and pool area which is just perfect for kids and to relax. The owner is very friendly and supportive. The house was very clean. One day a toilet was broken and fixed the same day. Perfect service! The place is up the hill and in my opinion requires a car. Scenic view over Nice and the ocean! We will definitely come back if we plan to visit Nice again.
Back from 3 weeks holidays in this rental, we are delighted and just as we expected. The house is very convenient and well equiped. The garden is heaven when you have kids or toodler, with its protected and secured swimming pool.
You can count on nice owners welcoming you and helping you around when needed.
This is really a wonderful house in a great location! The view of Nice and the Mediterranean never gets old. A great bakery and a grocery store are both close by, and it's a quick/easy drive up to Aspremont for a mountaintop dinner. Our 2 young daughters never got bored and we enjoyed the peaceful environment very much.
Our farmhouse is located on a quiet, wooded suburban hill in Nice, overlooking the city and the Mediterranean. Downtown Nice is 10 minutes away and the Beaches 15 minutes away. Easy access to the towns up and down the coast, including Monaco, Cannes, Antibes, St. Paul de Vence, and Italy (35 minutes).
Other Activities: Monaco Gran Prix, Cannes Film Festival, Nice Carnaval, Rolex Masters Tennis Tournament
